Jupiter in Pisces

Dow Down Three Days in a Row
Every time Jupiter changes signs the market looses its focus. I mentioned this in the Winter Solstice 2009 article and the Capricorn New Moon Newsletter.  Market watchers have found every excuse in the world for the market going down.  They blame earthquakes, unemployment, banks, foreclosures and national and international debt.

Sorry folks it's just Jupiter changing signs and traders sitting on their cash trying to figure which sector will be in play next.  Jupiter in Pisces means there will be an abundant supply of oil, drugs, shoes, and chemicals.  It is a long list of industries. The companies in these businesses that are well managed and able to divest themselves of over supply will make it through and their stock price will hold with the market. Many will lose because oversupply will destroy their margin and profit.

Sixth House Emphasis is Employment
There is a glimmer of hope since Jupiter, Moon and Neptune are in the 6th house which suggests employment will expand in selected areas.  Hopefully this is a sign that the number of unemployed will decrease during the next few months. Watch the weekly claims numbers.

Employment areas where Jupiter plans to find some new jobs for folks. They are uniform services,  creative arts especially films, and volunteer public service.  Consider emergency services, volunteer coordinator, film distribution as some possible places to look for employment.  Most jobs will be short term, however, it might be just enough to give you a chance to clean up some of your bills.

Sectors for Investors to Consider
Investors need to look at the suggested sectors where short supply will dominate the economic picture.  Sectors ruled by Gemini include vehicles, telephones, and early education materials.  Sectors ruled by Sagittarius are international travel, higher education, and publishing.  All of these areas were hit by the internet tsunami and companies are reshuffling.  New players will emerge and worthy of investing a few bucks.

Fiscal Cents - Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign - Aquarius

Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign For the Lunar Month Beginning January 15, 2010 - Your Astrological Horoscope and Financial Outlook
by Kaye Shinker

CapricornHappy Solar Return Aquarius! The New Moon is in Capricorn, however the Sun enters Aquarius four days later on January 19th. Best Wishes to all Capricorns still celebrating their Solar Returns. Both Sun signs are best advised to review and revise their portfolios and research thoroughly every stock on their "to buy" list.

If you are Capricorn, you have been trying your best to keep your life in order and it just refuses to obey. If you are a Aquarius Sun life has been reading directions and plugging in your devises and finding surge protectors and batteries. It is important for you to take care of all of your computers and make sure to properly file your warranty papers.

Advice for everyone - not just for Aquarius! During the past few years I have encouraged every Sun Sign to save some money, limit their trading with excellent stops and to develop hobbies. 2010 is the year to watch for IPO's. Read the descriptions and start looking for great new inventions.

If you have a planet near 25 degrees Capricorn read my article, Economic Implications of the Solar Eclipse in Your Personal Horoscope

This Month For Aquarius

Start a new change jar to begin saving for your next vacation. Cash spent on home improvements will add to the value of your property. Make the interior of your home comfortable as you will prefer to work there as much as possible.

Aquarius, we suggest that you also read your Ascendant (your Rising sign), as well as your Sun sign on our web site - to read your sun sign's forecast on our web site go to: www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/Fiscalcents.html.

For all other signs: Each Sun Sign has predictions of the challenges and successes for you during the month ahead in our Fiscal Cents column on the web site. (Remember to also read your Ascendant, or Rising sign, as well as your Sun sign!)

New Moon forecasts show the general trends and financial outlook for the month; here is what Kaye Shinker has to say for the month ahead:

New Moon in Capricorn Solar Eclipse 2010
The New Moon in Capricorn is also a Solar Eclipse. It will occur on January 15, 2010 at 2:11 am at Washington D.C.

The area where the eclipse is visible starts in Africa, over the Indian Ocean and ends in China. The entire area has been shaking since the July 22, 2009 eclipse and several volcanoes are rumbling. (Follow the path of the eclipse: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OHfigures/OH2010-Fig01.pdf )

The eclipse is conjunct the natal Pluto of the USA 4th of July chart. Pluto is in the second house of the USA Sibley chart. The entire country must rise from the ashes like the mythical Phoenix in order to clean up one huge financial mess. It is probable that the dollar and the banking system will insist on being rebuilt. Extraordinary creativity will be required.

My optimistic suggestion: Capricorn likes to change the rules of the game. Pluto likes to destroy things. The current set of proposed rules are impossible to enforce. For the past six months governments and business have been making various attempts at changing the rules.

If you have a planet near 25 degrees Capricorn read my article, Economic Implications of the Solar Eclipse in Your Personal Horoscope

The New Moon appears in the third house for the east coast and in the fourth house for the west coast of the US. The weather forecast is difficult for the entire hemisphere. Expect the continental plates to slip and slide during the next few weeks.

Transportation and communications will be the focus of attention with the New Moon in the third House. The Federal Communications Commission should be extremely busy discussing difficult problems such as band width and emergency communications channels. Electronic communications providers will spend most of the month looking for opportunities to find new ways to monetize their services.

Venus in the Third House

Corporations and governments will debate the subscription vs advertising services to the public with polls and questionnaires. The focus will be the amount of discretionary income the public considers reasonable to pay for these services. Also a new type of Internet pay per page view debit card could find trial runs among select consumers.

Vehicles and communications equipment will be in demand. Upgrades will become the focus of public attention. Employment in these areas will improve, especially in the older technologies where workers are giving notice of plans to retire. Entrepreneurs in the service sector of communications will add employees as demand increases. The New Moon gives Venus extra power and earned income in the transportation industry will increase. Truck drivers will earn their raise.

Neptune in the Fourth

Expect water damage on the East Coast.

Taxpayers will not be very happy if they are expected to bailout another insurance company.

Local governments will discover that their real estate tax assessments are flawed due to changing evaluations of a home's resale price and the occupancy of commercial real estate. Local and state legislators will be required to attend endless budget meetings.

Jupiter in the Fourth

Jupiter in the fourth can precipitate an earthquake and in this case along the East Coast of the USA and that includes the Caribbean. (Marley's note- This prediction was written 2 weeks earlier than when the earthquake occurred in Haiti - very impressive astrological work Kaye!)

The number of real estate transactions east of the Mississippi are likely to increase. People will happily work on home improvement projects keeping the hardware stores busy. Underemployed handy men/women should make their skills known.

Uranus in the Fourth

Uranus here brings surprises to the real-estate markets. Owners of commercial real estate will need to study new ways to sell their space. Innovations in electronics has reduced demand for some types of spaces requiring property owners to renovate their buildings. For example: As broadband expands its reach offices will require fewer and fewer square feet to operate. New businesses require a nice conference room and a bank of computers to operate efficiently.

Mars in the Ninth

Problem here is Mars retrograde at the top of the chart. Confusion prevails as International tensions create volatility concerning tariffs and monetary exchange rates. It is time to be wary of investments made outside of your region.

It is a good idea to avoid currency investments. Mars retrograde in Leo means gold and mining stocks will be volatile until March 10.

Saber rattling perpetrators attempt actions but they are thwarted when they try to follow through. The current challenge especially for the media will be to identify who started the fight. While Mars is retrograde the person who starts the battle loses.

Saturn in the Eleventh

Saturn is applying to a square with Pluto. Whoever tries to raise taxes on bonuses or dividends will lose their position of power. The corporate sport will be to hide as much profit as possible through acquisitions or spin offs. Executives will study ways to grow their businesses without diluting their capital. Small business will study their account books to find new ways to improve their capital and increase their cash reserves.

Pluto in the Second

Pluto is square Saturn and will be exact on January 31. During the month scandals concerning theft will surface at every level of the economy. Losses will continue in the financial services industry as hidden toxic assets surface. The IRS will expose tax fraud in an effort to increase compliance. Before investing in an ETF be sure you know the tax consequences concerning their earnings estimates. (FYI, ETFs that hold currencies, futures contracts or hard assets such as precious metals receive different treatment under the U.S. tax code.) Be wary of claims of government guarantees.

Mercury in the Second

Earned income for the USA will come from hidden sources. Media old and new will add to the earnings prospects for everyone. Be sure you invest in your own education and learn to use your electronic gadgets efficiently. Uranus will be in Aries May 28th suggesting dramatic changes in communications. Now is the time to be alert and watch the descriptions of IPO's coming into the market. You are looking for new products that are outrageous.

Silver

Date when silver was first traded as a commodity on the National Metals Exchange.

Why Silver?
Did you ever take a teaspoon out of your Sterling Silver box and weigh it on you kitchen scales? It's a little over an ounce, right?  Silver sells for about $18.50 per troy ounce on the Comex. Let's see that is 8 place settings x4 utensils x $18.50.  And you thought it was an ugly pattern. Actually many of the pieces weigh more than an ounce, but in the words of your grandmother it was useful and an investment.

You can find silver all over your house and even in your car.  Right this minute you will find silver under the keys of your computer keyboard.  Silver is a dependable safety switch for all things electric including your light switches, and your circuit breakers.  Think of all the household electrical products manufactured in China. Does that explain their demand?

In addition to silverware and jewelry, silver has a wide range of uses. Silver nitrate is used for photographic film and as a natural antibiotic in medicine.  Although photography and medicine no longer demand huge supplies of silver, electrical devises have increased the demand four fold. Silver mining companies are often six months behind filling their contracts.

The Moon rules Silver
The light of the silvery Moon is always changing and therefore the price of silver is constantly changing. It is a moody metal, unpredictable and its valuations are capricious.  However if you follow the price of silver over the past 70+ years you will note that it trends higher until the Sun is in Cancer and trends lower until the Sun is in Capricorn.

The chart above is useful as an early warning to predict the rise and fall of the price for silver. Transiting Pluto will trine its Mars Neptune conjunction and transiting Saturn will trine its Venus.  It looks like a good play long, but silver is capricious and stops are essential. Note these aspects have been in play since 2008.

I tested this chart for silver with past highs and lows. The best story happened in 1980. I chose the event when the Hunt Brothers attempted to corner the silver market.  March 1980 silver sold for almost $50 per troy ounce.  However March 24, 1980 there was a rules change concerning margin requirements for commodities traders.  The chart for Silver indicates the the rules change with Pluto squared by transiting Pluto. The Hunt brothers had cornered one third of the silver market, but the change in margin rules would bankrupt them.  It's a good story.

In financial astrology it is a good idea not to mess with Pluto.  Transiting Pluto loves to destroy wealth and will chose a conjunction, square,  or an opposition to accomplish the task.  At the moment Pluto is making a square to Saturn and looking for targets.  Double check the astrological charts for the stocks and commodities in your portfolio.

Charts for stocks and commodities may be found in the Textbooks for Financial Astrology. Book 4 contains a number of commodities charts including this one.

OPEC: Oil UP Oil down

The chart for OPEC The Organizations of Petroleum Exporting States is from Nicholas Campion's Book of World Horoscopes.

It has proven to be a fairly accurate chart for predicting the price of oil. You can watch the transiting planets as they move in cycles around the zodiac or you can pick an event chart such as the one above for OPEC.

Here my procedure.
Using this commodities site I find the date the price was at a high and then the date it was at a low.  I place the planets Jupiter-Pluto around the chart and their direction during the year. If they make a conjunction, square or an opposition during the year I note the date it happens and then find the price on that date.

Example using the OPEC chart to follow the price of oil.
Oil was at its all time high $141 per barrel the month following Jupiter trine the OPEC Sun July 11, 2008. The next aspect to follow was Saturn conjunct Pluto when the price begins to fall. Saturn then makes two conjunctions to OPEC's Sun (Dec 15, 2008 and Jan. 16, 2009).  The price of oil fell to $32 on Dec 19, 2008.  It remained on its low for about two months and then began an upward climb doubling  by June 15, 2009 to $68.  During those six months Jupiter made favorable aspects to Mercury, Venus, Mars and itself.  Aug 20, 2009 Saturn returned to a conjunction with the OPEC Sun then squared Jupiter and Mars to find a price range of $60-70. Then Jupiter opposed Uranus made a sextile to itself and made a trine to Mars pushing the price up t0 $80.

Follow the progress of transiting Jupiter through the next few months as it moves to an opposition with Pluto, trines Neptune and the Moon and makes a sextile to Saturn.  After the date each aspect is exact then look at the one that follows and you should be able to anticipate whether the price will go up or down.

The Textbook for Financial Astrology contains a number of charts for stocks and commodities. I think it is really a fun way to watch the oil market knowing the price of gasoline will follow. The dollar is also a factor in the price of oil.  Scroll down for the Dollar's chart.

The price of gas has become something of a sport for me.
I know that about two weeks after the spot price for oil drops a few dollars then the price of gas at the pump will be down a few cents. In early 2008 when gasoline moved past$3 per gallon I learned to carefully consolidate my trips. I know my exact route when I go into town (80 miles round trip). I track the price of oil to have an idea of whether to fill up at the pump or just spend $20.  My Virgo rising is very self-critical especially if I miss a lower price of even two cents a week later.
