Weekly Planets for Europe & Asia

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning November 25, 2013

Sun in Sagittarius tends to boost market prices

America and Germany push to new highs. Pretty much alone.

Wall Street will be closed Thursday and will close early on Friday as the USA takes time out for Thanksgiving.

There are four significant astrological aspects this week. Mercury conjuncts Saturn on Monday and trines Jupiter on Thursday.

Venus opposes Jupiter on Thursday and the Sun trines Uranus next Saturday.
The current blow-off rally on Wall Street launched itself on October 8 with Mercury conjuncting Saturn not long before the little guy went Retrograde. There's a chance of a near-term top developing Monday or Tuesday.

Gold made its August high exactly as Venus squared Jupiter. So, there's a chance gold may find a sustained low this week as Venus makes another hard aspect to the FatBoy.

The Sun is now on its annual trip through Sagittarius, which does have a tendency to boost stock prices.

Over the past few weeks, I've published a number of charts showing important planetary barriers overhead for the SP500, as well as gold charts.

You can consult the Archives for the relevant price levels for both.

This week, I'll concentrate on updating Weekly Planets charts for a range of other world markets.

And we'll begin with my home index, the ASX200. Auntie made another test of the Uranus line now priced at 5311 and managed to close above it, though not nearly as decisively as the previous week.

Big Bird is dropping, though it remains in positive mode since it has yet to lose the +100 red line. Still, the internal strength continues to fade, with the last peak in the oscillator much lower than the peaks it recorded earlier in the year.

GERMANY is next. The next upside barrier is 9272, with a stronger Resistance level at 9464. Since there is no negative divergence evident in the oscillator, that high-level target needs to be considered as a "probable" destination for the DAX.

LONDON has been in decline for the past few weeks, with the FTSE's ability to break out capped by Saturn lines.

PARIS has also been in consolidation mode, though its stall has been happening on top of an obviously important Neptune line at 4222. It's probably worth noting that this rally began in 2011 when the CAC made a false break of a primary Pluto line and launched a recovery.

Since it started at primary Pluto, it may not end until it gets to another one - priced at 4400.

AMSTERDAM remains strong above a Neptune price line. If we track the index's past performance, it's fairly obvious it plays to the cyan Saturns when not trapped by Uranus/Neptune lines.

INDIA'S Nifty index is next. Big Bird approved of the high a few weeks ago, so we can probably assume there will be another attempt at reaching the Uranus level at 6384 when the current correction is finished.

INDONESIA is still working off the excesses of its record run earlier in the year. Jakarta made an attempt last week to regain the Uranus barrier at 4409, but was quickly rebuffed.

For the moment, the index is probably stuck in a range from the 4400s down to the 4220s.

SINGAPORE seems to be playing Follow-the-Saturns. For the past few weeks it has managed to stay above the lines. So long as it does, another attempt at the 3326 Neptune seems likely.

I'll try to update a few more world index Weekly Planets charts next weekend and, perhaps, take another look at gold.

You might want to hold onto this week's charts because it's likely to be quite a few months before I publish them again. The updates for the remainder of the year will be relatively brief because I need to spend the next few weeks researching and writing Forecast 2014.

If all goes well, the Forecast will be available from early January. There is no need to pre-order. I'll install banners onto the website home page and on the Eye of Ra page when it's finalised and ready for sale.

More target levels for various indices

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning August 11, 2013

Targets for Various Indices
While it is slow getting started, the odds still lean towards most major world indices now entering another significant correction.

It is difficult to generalise because not all markets are moving in the same direction.

In Europe, for example, England and Germany have failed to take out their May highs, but France and Holland have exceeded those levels with some technical indications they can go still higher.

In the broader Asian region, New Zealand, Malaysia and Indonesia are still close to all-time highs, while India, Singapore and Hong Kong are struggling to recapture peaks from earlier in the year.

We will review some further long-range and intermediate charts for a range of indices this weekend - including the SP500, the FTSE, the DAX, France and the Netherlands, India, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. I'll add some others in the next few weeks.

Astrologically, we're within the period I went into some detail about last weekend - where Jupiter is starting a series of oppositions to Pluto and squares to Uranus; two signatures associated with long-range peaks in the Wall Street indices.

We'll begin this weekend with the long-range planetary price chart for Pollyanna, the SP500. I've been warning for the past few weekends that technical conditions on the daily and weekly charts were deteriorating badly and in the July 29 edition I published a chart showing there was probably very little upside left for the bounceback which began in June.

At least so far, Pollyanna has been unable to reach that target - around the 1720 level.

We can't be absolutely certain that a major correction is now underway. But the odds are likely that is the case.

While American markets have taken out the May high, the FTSE has spent the past few weeks trapped between two major planetary price lines at a lower level - and the oscillator continues to be very unhappy.

The same is largely true for Germany's DAX index (below).
The French CAC40, however, is attempting to break out higher - with no disagreement at all from the long-range oscillator.

Holland's AEX is receiving even stronger signals from the oscillator.

Mumbai's Nifty, however, shows signs of continuing weakness. It has retested a Uranus level in the 5520s, but one doubts it can hold ... largely because the Big Bird oscillator has plunged to new depths, even though price is at about the same level.

Singapore is now in its 6th week of pushing against an overhead Saturn level well below its May peak.
Hong Kong is having similar problems; worse to some extent because the Hang Seng peaked early in the year and is starting to make lower highs and deeper lows.

Australia, too, may be in deep trouble. It is trying desperately to hold an important Saturn level now around 5040 on the ASX Weekly Planets chart but is in dire danger of setting up a very negative Head & Shoulders pattern.

As I indicated at the beginning, it's now getting very difficult to "generalise" because of the growing disconnect between major markets.

In a healthy environment, there is a tendency for everyone to move in the same direction. There are always some exceptions, of course, because of local or regional factors which tend to be relatively short-lived. That's not really what we have here, even allowing for some regional differences and changes in currency rates.

In any case, I hope these intermediate and long-range charts help you determine probable targets - both for what I think is probably another downswing correction and, also, for potential tops to the Bull market in any bounceback out of the correction.

Weekly Planets: Asian indices

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning April 1, 2013
intermediate-range Weekly Planets and the USA horoscope for 2013 As I promised last weekend, this edition updates the intermediate-range Weekly Planets price targets for a number of Asian stock markets.

A couple of them - Malaysia and Indonesia - are way up there with the Wall Street indices.

Most world markets, however, have diverged significantly in a way not too dissimilar to what happened during the 1999-2000 Bubble top.

We'll have a look at a very long-range log chart for Miss Pollyanna, the SP500, in a moment. But, before we do, we'll have a little chat about the USA's horoscope for 2013.

And, I should also point out ... in terms of lies, damned lies and statistics ... that April is, on average, Pollyanna's strongest-performing month of the year; stronger even than the Santa Claus rally month of December.

But, let's talk first about America's 2013 birthday. Regardless of the exact time or date used to create the USA's birth chart as an independent nation, one thing is absolutely certain ... it has a Sun-Venus-Jupiter conjunction in the sign of Cancer.

Jupiter is still in Gemini, but is now tracking towards Cancer. Jupiter is "exalted" in Cancer. That is, the FatBoy is even grander, bigger and more benign than usual.

The Sun-Venus-Jupiter conjunction in the USA's natal chart explains a lot - both positive and negative about American traits and sociological history. And it also helps to explain why the country currently tends to believe it's immune from SinoEuropean contagion and is back in its "rightful" place as the leader of the world.

Hubris. In ancient Greek lore, it was basically the only real sin. Pity the modern Greeks and their Cypriot cousins forgot the old rules.

Below is a long-range log chart for Pollyanna, displaying a virtually perfect harmony with the trend line lessons and channels outlined in The Technical Section of The Idiot & The Moon.

I've mentioned before that the period from 1999 until now shows a distinct similarity with what happened during the 1960s, the period marked with a yellow oval.

During that period, Wall Street had three Bull runs and three Bear crashes. The Bull peaks were successively higher and the Bear bottoms progressively lower. The current period is not an exact replica, but at an eyeball glance, it does look to be remarkably similar.

And that is a LOT of negative divergence building-up in the long-range oscillator.

The point is ... with Jupiter heading towards a conjunction with the USA's extraordinarily benign natal configuration, we can't totally rule out new highs in Pollyanna, and possibly a lot higher than we've believed likely. But ... when Polly exits stage left and Chicken Little grabs the spotlight again, the downside could cut very deep.

More about that in coming weeks. Let's take a look at some of the Asian indices, starting with the Shanghai Composite.

A couple of editions ago, we had a chat about gaps. Shanghai created a couple of big ones on its weekly charts as it bounced strongly out of its last Low. The first of the gaps was filled with a strong decline 6 weeks ago and last week's downturn has gone very close to filling the one at 2233.

The state of the oscillator suggests there is no cause for panic or overt pessimism; it's the strongest it has been since early 2011 and its most recent peak displayed clear positive divergence.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index is above. It is currently trying to hold the primary Saturn line around 22,000, after failing to reach the Neptune line at 24,000.

Singapore's Straits Times Index, below, is in a stronger position, still apparently striving to reach its Neptune target.

The Singapore bounceback began within a Uranus/Pluto cluster of price lines and it may be trying to get to a similar planetary zone, now priced close to 3500 at its lower range.

Indonesia ...

Jakarta is making all-time highs, though it's doing it with negative divergence just starting to show in the oscillator. That doesn't rule out new highs in the near future, but the wave structure is beginning to look complete, leaving the index ripe for a correction.

And Malaysia is looking similar ...
click for larger image

Just at an eyeball glance, Kuala Lumpur has a tendency to make primary moves between Node price lines (orange), with weekly stops at Saturn prices. You can see why there has been a lot of stalling in the current price range; that's a first harmonic Node line the index is trying to breakout above ... from a bounce which began at a false break of the 1st harmonic line currently priced about 1300.

In other words, it has completed its full Node-to-Node price run and now needs to breakout or breakdown. And the price targets for both scenarios are listed.

Mumbai is next ...

Okay, so that brings most of my Asian readers up-to-date. The price targets on the Weekly Planets charts from last weekend will not have changed very much. You can always copy the image and draw-in your own price bar for the week if you need a visual guide of how your favorite index is doing.
