An Astrological Trip Around the New Moon in Libra

Astrological Investing New Moon forecasts show general trends and financial outlook for the month. The New Moon in Libra, 2013  - Chart from the point of view of Wall Street and the NYSE.
The New Moon in Libra, October 4, 2013
Chart from the point of view of Wall Street and the NYSE.

Last months Lunar cycle has come to an end as the Moon conjuncts the Sun in Libra triggering the energy of the Pluto- Uranus square.
This aspect has heated things up politically at home (ruthless, negative campaigns and strong disagreements between the two political parties in the US) and world wide. (mob violence and political uprisings in the Middle East) And, economically, the Uranus and Pluto aspect has been push pulling the markets. Note - Though not always strongly in force by exact aspect, the energy of Pluto square Uranus has been an operative influence since 2012, and will be influential though 2015.

An Astrological Trip Around the New Moon in Libra Chart

The New Moon is in the fifth house in a T-square with Pluto (eighth house) and Uranus (eleventh house) - Typically, new moons create a feeling of optimism and the markets react positively.  Research has shown that people have a greater willingness for change and acceptance at the New Moon phase. Optimism for a brighter future coming is prevalent with the new growth cycle of the Moon.  "When a new moon occurs, people, male and female, will experience a sense of calmness. Their emotions will stabilize and their willingness to accept difficulties will reach its peak. The persons will be more energetic and open-minded. Optimism will also result from this moon phase." from the article, Human Behavior with Relation to the Lunar Cycle

However, this month at the time of the New Moon, the Sun and Moon in Libra trigger the energy of a challenging Pluto- Uranus square.  Now, it may be possible that whatever has investors jittery has already been baked into the market by the time of the New Moon - just days leading up to the New Moon the Sun has squared Pluto and then went on to oppose Uranus.   So, maybe the fear has subsided?

It's all about risk these days - especially with the New Moon in the fifth - just how much risk can you tolerate?  Read Randall Ashbourne's article The Moods of the Moon - Trading the Mood Swings of the Monthly Lunar Cycle

Events governed by the 5th house will come to the forefront this lunar month -
This being the Sun's "natural" house, the 5th house has much to do with public figures. Here, the Sun represents all people in authority in respect to the NYSE - that would include Ben Bernanke and the President of the US.

The Moon represents where people's attention and focus falls this month - as well as the actual mood of the people.  Frankly, in Libra, people would like to be out enjoying parties and the theater, or maybe entertaining in their homes, with Jupiter now in Cancer.  The need for a bit of balance away from the stress of every life, and the need to take time out for amusement of all sorts, is their focus of attention.  Unfortunately, this is not an easy need to fulfill with a T-square to Uranus and Pluto! Those planets have little, or nothing, to do with fun and leisure.

Public speculation, investments, gambling (having to do with risk taking in the market) will be spotlighted. Since the politics of the nation affect the fears of investors, the popularity of the President is on the line, as well as The Fed Chairman.  Social problems arise, and there is a possibility of scandal.

The ruler of the Taurus rising chart, Venus, is located in the sixth house on the cusp of the seventh - If well aspected this would be very fortunate, however, that isn't happening either!

Venus is not well placed in the sign of Scorpio, especially when opposing the chart's rising degree in Taurus. And there is an applying square from Mars. This is not good for the working class.  Unemployment, worries of an increase in taxation, and higher expenditures is of great concern.  Money, money, money is on the minds of the working people - investors are interested in stable stocks that yield high dividends.

The New Moon in Libra, October 15, 2012

Astrological Investing New Moon forecasts show general trends and financial outlook for the month. The New Moon in Libra, October 15 - Chart from the point of view of Wall Street and the NYSE.
As Above, So Below - Fall is in the air! As we enjoy the changing crisp cool weather and colorful leaves, take notice, too, that the energy Above has changed. Saturn has moved into Scorpio, Mars is now in Sagittarius, Mercury will station retrograde on November 6, and Neptune changes direction on November 11. But still ...the unpredictable and disruptive energy of the Uranus - Pluto square has people highly charged.

Libra's place in the zodiac is found between the signs of the Perfectionist Virgo and the Transformational Scorpio. Libra wants beauty, tranquility, peace and harmony; does not tolerate discord and desires justice. Yet, often charts of Librans have much planetary influence from the signs it sits between - and both signs lean on Libra's scales. Libra struggles for balance...

An Astrological Trip Around the New Moon in Libra Chart

A reminder that in Mundane Astrology the first, fourth, seventh and tenth houses are most important. The first house represents the minds of the people. Changes and developments take place in the house where the New Moon is found.
The New Moon is found in the twelfth house -
"Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked." Warren Buffett
Events governed by the 12th house come to the forefront this lunar month. The 12th house has much to do with what is hidden and what is behind the scenes. Some astrologers have noticed that the internet has an important role to play in 12th house affairs.

The New Moon will bring a certain amount of hidden troubles of Wall Street and the USA to the forefront. We may learn more about problems in the Middle East and "secret enemies".

When well aspected, public institutions, hospitals, prisons, and charitable organizations may benefit. However, since the New Moon is technically unaspected in the 12th, (no applying ptolemaic aspect within 3 degrees) it is hard to predict what hidden things will be stumbled upon in the darkness of this New Moon!

Saturn is on the Ascendant in the twelfth house, trining Neptune in the fourth. This position gives Saturn prominence in the chart, and can be read as Saturn in the first house. However, even if read as being in the 12th, Saturn here trine Neptune is positive for trade, revenue and investments. Public institutions, hospitals, prisons, and charitable organizations may benefit due to improved regulations or administration.

Neptune in the fourth strengthens idealized democratic/political causes. Also, the fourth house has much to due with weather conditions. Because of the trine with Saturn, Neptune here suggests colder weather.

Mercury in the first house - During a time when the US candidates have debated, Mercury is found in the first house! A lot of political talk is going on. The textbook interpretation of Mercury in the first is, " there is plenty of speechmaking".

Mercury is sextile Venus in the eleventh house - Trade will be active and educational affairs will be prominent. Venus sextile Mercury and square Jupiter will support stocks in the sector ruled by Gemini. Gemini sectors include Advertising, Media (including social media), Telecommunication, Transportation (airline, railroad, truck & auto), Education, Leisure, Travel, Retail-Internet, Technology and Information Services.

Mars in Sagittarius in the second house - Mars in Sagittarius acts optimistically with great confidence - The aggressive monetary policy of Ben Bernanke will continue to be a positive force in the market as the increase in money supply benefits business. It is very possible there will be an increase in military spending with Mars in the 2nd.

Mars makes an opposition to Jupiter later in the month, a day before the Full Moon - Typically Full Moon periods see a temporary downturn in the market. With Jupiter in Gemini and Mars in Sagittarius (Jupiter's sign!), these two planets opposing each other could cause an overreaction of panic in the market due to discontent over extravagance in government spending and the monetary policy. Be alert in the market!

Pluto in the third house - With Pluto there is intensity. In the third, stocks ruled by Gemini continue to outperform the market. Gemini sectors include Advertising, Media (including social media), Telecommunication, Transportation (airline, railroad, truck & auto), Education, Leisure, Travel, Retail-Internet, Technology and Information Services.

Pluto is squared by Uranus in the fifth - Education is a hot topic among the politicians, particularly the hiring of teachers and the cost of their benefits. Clashing ideas and questions regarding the interests of children, particularly schools and education, will be a cause for argument. There is criticism of the administration's and government's spending too much money and leisure time.

Economically, the Uranus and Pluto aspect has been push pulling the markets.

Jupiter in the eighth house square Venus in the eleventh - More money is made available by government sources. Banking and financial institutions benefit.

New Moon forecasts show the general trends and financial outlook for the month; below is some of what Kaye Shinker predicts for the month ahead.
New Moon in Libra, Sept.27, 2011 at 7:09 am EDT, Washington DC
The New Moon appears in the 12th House (refer to chart) Non USA members can set up a New Moon chart for the capital of their country. Textbook 4, page 30 of the Textbook For Financial Astrology, will help with interpretation the New Moon chart. (Note the house position of the New Moon in the chart in the capital of the country.)

Libra New Moon
The focus of the Libra New Moon is on charity and government institutions and both will dominate the news. Commodity prices will continue to be volatile. If you need a vehicle, it is a good time to start shopping.

The weather forecast is balmy for areas east of the Appalachians. West of the Appalachians expect floods and some seismic activity. Be sure to check your emergency supplies.

Super New Moon
The Moon is perigee or at its closest point in its orbit around the Earth. Super Moons often predict natural disasters such as severe weather, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity. Richard Nolle created the term "Super New Moon". Click through to his article and explanation of the term.

This Super New Moon will put a great deal of pressure on hospitals and charitable institutions. Pharmaceutical and health care equities will be under pressure to turn a profit. Scandals and fraud will upset the public concerning the management of these institutions.

October 1st-14th, North Node Transits 17° Sagittarius
This is a tricky degree mark for the markets. It warns of an energy and/or banking crisis in the making. European/Americans investing in emerging markets will find currency inflation a huge international trade problem. (Read Global Trend Changes Coming, by Pat Hardy, on the blog.)

October 28, Jupiter trine Pluto at 5° Taurus Capricorn
Jupiter will apply to a trine with Pluto starting with the September 23rd Equinox and ending with the Spring 2012 equinox. Everyone will strive for personal success. Agriculture and Business will find plenty of work and the energy to accomplish the goals they set. Business abroad will remain successful throughout this time period.

The exact aspect marks an up market and the midpoint of an extended period of buyouts, mergers and mega deals.

It is also a warning of bankruptcy among various financial institutions. It is very important to check the debt obligations of equities on your list of possible investments. Folks need to repeat the mantra "Cash is King" when judging investments and managing their own budgets.

The New Moon Chart and Planets through the houses - New Moon in the 12th house

Mercury appears in the 1st House
Mercury here predicts a reevaluation of welfare rules. Charities will be asked to contribute more since the various local governments are unable to provide matching funds. Scandals and fraud concerning the funds managed by charity and government will make headlines. Businesses that provide services to welfare agencies should be alert. Honesty and excellent paperwork are required.

Venus appears in the 1st House
Retail establishments will find shoppers asking for quality merchandise. Folks are concentrating on creating a new style, new colors, and a new look. Women are successful at finding paid employment that supports their goals.

Mars appears in the 10th House
A great deal of energy is directed at finding ways to complete military involvements. Businesses with contracts involved with military procurement will find fewer orders. The military will require fewer troops and thus lower the demand for goods and services contracts.

Jupiter appears in the 8th House
Paper work, insurance and taxes are in abundance. Much of it is required, but everyone is complaining that it is overabundant. Business continues to lose executives and critical employees to retirement or death.
