The New Moon in Leo

The New Moon Leo appears August 20, 2009 at 6:01 am EDT Washington D.C.
This is a Super New Moon which means the Moon is in Perigee (closest to Earth).

The ring of fire is very vulnerable since a great deal of its territory is in the path of the July 21st Solar Eclipse. This means Earthquakes, Volcanic activity and Tsunamis

If the Sun Spot cycle continues at its minimum then expect cooler temperatures world wide.
During the next four weeks there will be six market changing aspects for economies world wide. We are coming off a Sugar High initiated by Jupiter and Neptune on July 10. It will return December 21, 2009.

Basically the economy will hit the reset button. This month Saturn will be conjunct Mercury retrograde (rare) and everyone will realize they do not know what they are doing. So here we go, hang on to cash and your computer, but most of all evaluate your talents. Personal Responsibility is the KEY phrase.

Earthquake weather

The path of the Eclipse is very Shaky 4 Earthquakes in the past 24 hours plus Tsunami warnings

Cancer New Moon #2 is also a Total Solar Eclipse.

“The weather of that day will stay that way” is the saying that goes with the path of the eclipse.  Usually the path indicates an area very vulnerable to violent weather.   Example: The 2005 eclipse was visible in New Orleans and Katrina pounded the city causing the levees to break.

I follow www.spaceweather.com everyday and unless Jupiter and Neptune can talk the Sun into producing more spots then it is unlikely CME’s (Coronal Mass Ejection) will be a problem.

But, sun spots can form quickly! And any CME aimed at these emerging markets could devastate the entire region.  

More likely, since this is also a Super New Moon, are earthquakes and volcanic activity.  (A New Moon is considered a Super New Moon when it is closest to the earth - or Perigee. )

Both tend to be isolated weather hazards, however, volcanic ash tends to circle at high altitudes for a long time causing cool wet weather.  An example is Sarychev, a Russian volcano, that whirled around the globe - and even the internet! - in June 2009.  There are plenty of volcanos beneath the path of the eclipse, http://spaceweather.com/archive.php?view=1&day=24&month=06&year=2009

Dow 30 Industrials

Marlene and I plan to attend the ISAR Conference in Chicago's western suburb Oakbrook August 20-23. Both of us plan to go to as many lectures as possible on the Financial Astrology track. 

I have learned from experience to assemble in a 3-ring binder a copy of each Dow stock's Incorporation and IPO chart. I carry it with me to the lectures and then make notes right on the chart according to the various observations of the presenters. It is one way I force myself to keep all of the lecture notes in one place. In fact I even put the handouts from the lectures in the same notebook.

At Astrological Investing our experience has shown that although the date for the Initial Public Offering is important when determining the direction for price of an individual stock, it is the Incorporation chart that determines the health of the company.  Folks who use the lessons of Astrological Investing need to check both the Inc. and IPO charts before they move on to technical analysis as well as historical research of the company's business. 

Household Hint:  Print the E book.  ( I just printed a copy for Marlene because she has a very slow printer.) Whenever you read a headline, write the date on the chart for the company.  In a few days you will be able to determine how the headline affected the price of the stock. If there is a significant rise or fall in price then you can check the Ephemeris or LLewellyn calendar for the planetary transit involved in the news headline.

Vertex

The Vertex: The Personal Point Often Overlooked in Synastry

The eclipse July 21, 2009 at 29 Cancer was extremely close to the USA Vertex at 26 Cancer (Sibley chart).  Nick Campion explains that it was drawn using horary techniques several months after the 4th of July proclamation.  Therefore the eclipse might be within range of the USA vertex.  

Yet another aspect to add to our list of conjunctions and oppositions to worry about during the next few months. My friend Lorraine sent me to my chart files because I suddenly remembered the USA chart.  She wrote the following:

"The VERTEX~A fated/destined intersection in the chart that's unchangeable~ inescapable~sign mirrors/represents a quality to bring out"  

Therefore I thought I would check out some of our presidents and see  how they related to the USA chart and also thought if quite a few had an aspect it might further verify Sibley's accuracy. Obama has Saturn at 25 Capricorn Joe Bidden has Jupiter at 25 Cancer. Mc Cain and Palin have the Moon at 26 and 28 Capricorn. George Bush 43 has Saturn at 26 Cancer as did JFK. Reagan had Uranus at 26 Capricorn  and Truman had Jupiter at 28 Cancer. Hillary has Vesta at 26 Cancer.  Presidents, Franklin, LBJ, Ike, Nixon, Carter, Clinton and Bush 41 did not have a planet near the USA Vertex.

In the Capricorn 1994 issue of Welcome to Planet Earth when it was a paper magazine I wrote an article about the Vertex and described it as a black hole particularly when used in synasty   An example: If someone's Mars is conjunct your vertex they tended to try to control you with intimidation.

If someone's Saturn is conjunct another's Vertex it means 'intense projection of self on the other'. The definition for Saturn conjunct the opposite point Antivertex can be defined as 'need to express father image as the standard for behavior'.  

I used to lecture on the topic, but haven't in about 10 years.  Probably would have to do more research if I did.  Donna Henson has a little book available from the AFA on the Vertex.  It is very good and cookbook style.    She used some of my research.
