Price targets for the correction

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning August 19, 2013

Venus adds weight to the Uranus/Pluto square
The correction I've been warning about finally started to bite deeply last week ... at least on Wall Street.

I indicated last weekend it was becoming difficult to generalise about stock indices because not all markets were moving in the same direction.

The variations continued throughout last week. However, the main show remains Wall Street and that's what we'll be concentrating on this weekend.

The coming week brings an exact hit of Jupiter square Uranus, an aspect which packs enough punch to either turn the markets ... or accelerate the downswing. We'll take a look at the relevant price levels as we go deeper into the charts.

The Sun is nearing the end of its journey through Leo and will enter Virgo. Leo is a "good mood" sign. It likes a show and has rulership over gambling. Virgo is much more picky and critical. Pull the wool over Leo's eyes and all it sees is the fabled golden fleece.

Try pulling the wool over Virgo's eyes and you'll get a sharp slap in the face, along with a nagging lecture about how dirty and unhygenic it is to be playing with that daggy, disgusting piece of animal skin.

And Venus will soon add her weight to the long-running Uranus/Pluto square.

We'll begin this weekend with an update of a chart I used in the July 29 edition - Imminent danger of another fast drop. I indicated then that I thought there was very little upside left in the rally and the potential for some rather severe downside.

At the time I thought the maximum likely reach for the rally was only 1.6% higher at the 1719 Pluto barrier. Pollyanna, the SP500, couldn't quite get there ... and finished last week below the first downside target I marked in the July 29 edition.

For the moment, we cannot be certain whether this correction is going to eat Price or Time. In other words, it could go on for weeks, but not lose a lot of value ... or it could be a fast, deep plunge.

The state of the Dow Jones Industrials tends to favour the second scenario. Below is the DJI Weekly. The negative divergence between the higher Price peaks and the lower Big Bird peaks became very strident.

And there is no sign yet that it's lessening. Notice how the oscillator has now gone below the trough it recorded at the price low in late June?  It's a preliminary warning the chances are high that Price, too, will plunge lower than it did in June.

So, let's take a three-timeframe look at the 500 to try to get some sense of just how low this might go. We'll use the same mechanism across the monthly, weekly and daily trimeframes - the Bi-BB charts with a fast MACD.

For 9 months Pollyanna has been pushing the outer limits of the upside Bollinger Band, with only partial support from the MACD signal lines and at least some disagreement from the peaks in the MACD histogram.

Three previous corrections have declined all the way to the middle of the BBs. That seems a layer too far this time around. But the middle band of the upper tier, currently at 1583, is also close to the 1578 level listed as a target on the first chart.

The weekly Bi-BB chart is next. The top band has started to roll over, underpinning the potential for a significant correction. All corrections since this upleg began in 2011 have broken down through the middle of the bands, which tends to suggest a drop to at least 1590; pretty much in the same league as the 1583/1578 targets from the earlier charts.

And the daily Bi-BB is below. It suggests a bounceback, or at least a sideways consolidation, is very nearby. The reason why that is so is outlined in The Technical Section of  The Idiot & The Moon; a break of the outer bands almost always stalls the move, regardless of whether it's a topside or downside break. The stall need only be temporary.

Now let's look at what could turn it - or accelerate the downswing. The main astrological show this week is Jupiter squaring Uranus. I've been through this a few times in recent weeks and you might want to visit the Archives for a refresher.

The chart below deals only with the current Jupiter/Uranus/Pluto price levels in terms of the "price crossings" currently in range. To be assured of a strong bounce, we would need to see Pollyanna's price hit 1631-1632 fairly exactly on Wednesday/Thursday of this week ... and close higher than that price!

If the price closes below 1607.80 at that time, the downtrend is likely to plunge even deeper.

That's all for this weekend, folks. The Weekly Planets and long-range charts for various indices I've published recently contain valid price targets for other indices and you can check the Archives for those.

For the moment, the primary action is on Wall Street and what happens there is likely to have considerable impact on virtually all other markets.

Analysing the risk of a high speed U-turn

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning July 16, 2012

Analysing the risk of a high speed U-turn

High volatility is likely to continue in world stock markets over the next week ... with a higher-than-normal risk of a severe U-turn developing into the end of the month.

This weekend, we will examine the tendency of markets to go into a spurt-and-reverse cycle when the boy messenger of the Old Gods goes Rx. The retrograde movement of planets is an optical illusion. They never actually reverse course.

However, when viewed from the Earth, they sometimes seem to go backwards ... and as ancient astrologers watched the waltz of the planets, they added nuances to the symbolism of their interpretations. For example, if you happen to have Saturn Rx in your birth chart, there's a very, very strong chance your father will "go missing" by the time you reach your early teens.

Oh, I know that has nothing to do with financial astrology! But then, we both know you don't come peeking into the fortune teller's tent just to hear me waffle on about the dead Italian guy or whether the Canaries are croaking.

So, we're going to begin this week with a little look at The Trickster ... Mercury in Rx mode.

Let me start with some background.  The late Kaye Shinker, who was kind enough to review The Idiot and The Moon when I published it online a year ago, made a specific study of the Merc Rx impact on the Dow Jones Industrials and came to the conclusion that most of the time, the Dow would end the Merc Rx period with price within 1% of where it started the cycle.

To put this simply ... on August 8, the price of the DJI should be within 1% of where it closed last week.

Ray Merriman, the guru of financial astrologers, has noted a tendency for stock markets to start a move at the Rx date and then reverse course halfway through the cycle; which is just a variation on Kaye's findings.

Now, I guess if I were an American, I'd probably be from Missouri; IF my memory serves me correctly, that's the "don't tell me, SHOW me" State.

So, I'll show you.
click for larger image
There's a lot to absorb from the chart above, but firstly let me apologise for that irritating thick, pink vertical; it's a glitch in the software that occurs when a planet enters Aries. Please try to ignore it.

Okay, so this is a daily chart of the SP500 and it's obvious the index has a general tendency to travel within Mercurial corridors and finds either Support or Resistance when it meets up with the planetary price lines.

The retrograde periods begin when the pink lines stop rising and start dropping for a few weeks, before resuming their upward direction ... which is the shift from Rx to Direct again.

I've inserted black verticals at both the Rx and Direct dates. If you look closely at the three most recent instances, it's fairly easy to see what Kaye and Ray talked about. In the first example to the left of the chart, the index was dropping already, but continued the drop before bouncing roughly halfway through. By the time of the second black line for that cycle, price had climbed back very near to the bar marked by the very first black vertical.

In the second instance, the Merc Rx date produced a strong rebound ... changed direction about halfway through ... and then began climbing again after Mercury Direct.

The effect isn't quite as obvious in the third instance, but it is true that the price of the index at the second black line of the cycle was pretty damn close to where it was at the first vertical.

So, what does it all portend, eh? Well, as I said earlier ... a higher-than-normal chance of a spurt-and-reverse ... either a rally or a decline which goes high-speed into a U-turn halfway through the cycle, which means around July 27.

Okay, so that's the "show me" part. Now let me deal with some other astrological stuff about Mercury Rx. Some astrologers warn against trading during this period; others will tell you that the technical read-outs will give an abnormal number of "false" signals. I'm not one of them.

Mercury goes Rx for a few weeks at a time three or four times a year. I don't know about you, but I think life is too short to spend a quarter of the year sitting on your butt worrying and doing nothing because some pissant rock appears to be going backwards.

My real-life experience of Mercury Rx is this ... YOU make mistakes. And, usually, because you're not concentrating. I've learned over the years that the worst that happens is that I occasionally hit the bloody Buy button when I meant to hit the Sell. So, double-check everything you do for the next few weeks and make sure you actually did what you intended to do. And the chances are you'll get through the cycle totally unscathed.

Now, I guess I could tell you that's the end of The Spooky Stuff for this week ... but ... cue the X Files theme music, please ...
click for larger image
Yes ... it's the FTSE ... and yet another bounce from contact with the rising Sun line!! Spooky, indeed. How long will it last? GeeZeus, why are you asking me?! Okay, we're starting to get increasing fade-out in the state of the green and red Canaries - the green one is short-term and the red is intermediate. The yellow bird, the long-range, is still okay. But, the internal strength of the rally is starting to wane. That's the only daily we'll be looking at this week because I want to have a look at the big picture, especially with the high volatility implied by the Mercury Rx cycle and the Mars-Uranus potential for a crash cycle we went into last weekend.
click for larger image
The chart above is a monthly Gann for the FTSE. She lost the primary Gann angle on a closing basis in May, but has regained it, though June ... and July so far ... have failed to recapture the totality of the earlier losses.
click for larger image
Turning our attention again to Pollyanna, the SP500, it has also failed to recapture the earlier losses. It is playing by the Bi-BB rules outlined in The Technical Section of the book. I draw your attention to the three instances of negative divergence in the height of the fast MACD histograms, compounded at the price high by a lower peak in the MACD signal lines. The climate grows increasingly toxic, despite the hopes of a QE3 bailout from Ben.
click for larger image
Last week's decline stopped on contact with the 1325 long-range Node target and bounced back to finish near the Pluto line at 1358.
click for larger image
The ASX 200 has recovered about two-tenths-of-bugger-all of the May plunge. The extremely small range consolidation over June and July-to-date is either extremely Bullish or unbelievably Bearish. I have a very strong leaning towards the latter scenario. The depth of the long-range Canary plunge last August and the index's extremely weak recovery ... in an economy supposed to be one of the strongest in the Western world ... suggest things could get really ugly, really fast.
click for larger image
I've mentioned a couple of times recently the importance of the 50% retracement levels. The blue Fibonacci lines are the range of the 2007-2009 plunge and the red ones are the Rx levels for the 2009-2010 recovery rally. As y'can see, the post-plunge recovery stalled out at a 50% Rx ... and last week found Support at the 50% level of the smaller range. Okay, that's the show for this week, folks! At some stage, hopefully within the next week or so, I'll write a new piece for the Articles section of the site dealing with how to use The Idiot and a couple of really basic techie tools to trade intraday charts.

Venus Retrograde - Example in the Markets

In my next new Moon newsletter I remind readers that Venus is retrograde until June 27.

Reiterating last month's warning of what to expect with Venus retrograde "The markets enter an ever- changing environment of unpredictability. Since Venus rules money, it is possible that the Federal Reserve Board goes back and forth on decisions made as it revisits and reevaluates past polices."

Yesterday's opening rally and the disappointing close is an example of that. Within minutes of the opening the Dow industrials were over 150 points higher than Wednesday’s impressive 287-point gain. This was the result of the news of China’s central bank's decision to cut interest rates for the first time in four years, and the hopeful anticipation of Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke to announce QE3 in the near future.

However Bernanke failed to outline any new stimulus plans and within an hour of the close, profit-taking took back almost all of the early gains.

Easy Predictions with Solar Returns

The chart pictured above is the Solar Return for the Dow Index's birthday May 27. It will be 115 years old. For its 2010 Solar Return the planets were scattered in every house of its chart making every aspect possible. The Dow had a low of 9600 and a recent high of almost 13,000. Wild and crazy all over Wall Street. With a stellium in the 12th trine Saturn it looks like they will be cleaning up a lot of garbage and muddle through all the challenges to their authority. See if you can make a prediction. OK ? Then share your thoughts.

If the horoscope has an accurate time of birth then calculating and reading a solar return is an excellent way to find some interesting information about your year ahead. Four planets in the fifth house suggests I will have lots of fun in 2011. Who knows maybe I will sell some stocks and buy new ones. That would be fun. As a matter of fact I've already made a 10% profit selling one stock and buying another. After all my birthday was six weeks ago.

Corporate Solar Returns

OK the idea works with my chart and it definitely works with friends and family charts, but what about the charts of companies. One problem we have with very old companies is an accurate time of day when they were incorporated. Without a good time then the Solar Return is not very useful. However, companies incorporated in Delaware are given a time stamp and Mike Munkasey has recorded these times in his Company Data Base. Let's take a look at a few Dow stocks and quickly back test their Solar Return.

Boeing
Boeing had Jupiter Uranus conjunct in the second house of it 2010 solar return. They had a record amount of orders and tested their Dreamliner 787. In 2011 they are set to build a new facility in South Carolina and Saturn is in the 4th house of the 2011 return suggesting that this will be a difficult situation throughout the year ahead.

Caterpillar
Caterpillar had Saturn in the 4th house of its 2011 return and they are steeped in controversy with the high taxes in their home state Illinois even threatening to move. 2011 promises to be an exciting year at Caterpillar with 5 planets in the 10th and Venus in the 8th promising pending orders will be completed and money paid. During 2010 Caterpillar had a first house stellium in its solar return and the company became well known in the marketplace with its ability to sell earthmoving equiptment. Pluto in the 11th said the stockholders were very happy as the price of the stock went up 50% and their dividends increased.

Dell
Dell has spent most of its 2010 Solar return working at home getting its house in order with Saturn, Sun Mercury and Venus in the 4th. Advertising has been good with Jupiter and Uranus in the 9th but Moon in the 10th shows leadership at all levels constantly changing. 2011 looks a lot better with planets in each of the money houses. Their sales will improve and finally they will take new product risks.

The Textbook for Financial Astrology Book 3 has all of the Dow charts included. Dell, Boeing and Caterpillar are Dow stocks. You may even purchase just the charts for the Dow in a separate book.

Easy Predictions with Solar Returns is written for the charts of humans not companies, but if you read the suggestions for each planet in a house thinking how would a company use this energy it will help you see the year ahead for some of the Blue Chips you may own or maybe the company where you work.

Guess my 5th house Solar Return stellium is working overtime. This was a fun blog to write. If you are an old timer at Financial Astrology and the numbers are bluring before your eyes, take a minute and give the Inc. chart for your companies a Solar Return.

Nodes of the Dow

Sometimes it is fun to quote yourself. Winter Solstice 2009 I wrote an article for the NCGR Journal "The Nodes and Financial Astrology" pg. 30

My original research for the article appears in The Textbook for Financial Astrology IV. Here is a portion of the article I wrote after four of my colleagues sent E mails explaining to me that my research article should be in the next edition of the Journal.

Financial Astrology Gibberish

Will the Index continue to march back to its former highs? The Neptune Jupiter Chiron trio returns to their conjunction with the Index North Node as of December 10, 2009. Too much of a good thing and the index reverses?

Oct 9, 2007 was a reversal date and the market fell 10% only to return up 8% then on Dec. 10 the market reversed to go down 52% on March 9, 2009. the Dec 10th North node was within a degree and a half of a nodal return.

An aside to the study was twice nodal returns indicated a market up 10%. An interesting statistic however there were three nodal returns where there was no effect. The nodal return on January 1, 2008 did not mark a reversal date and the market continued its downward trend. Venus had just passed the South Node which it does once a year, but the Nodes were moving to a nodal return that would be exact January 1, 2008 and the Feb eclipse would was 17 Aquarius. The Dow average plummeted 12% . The March 2, 2008 trouble was in the wind but the Nodal return was still in effect . The Dow began its precipitous fall. May 2, 2008 from 13,000 to March 3, 2009 at 6600 or over 60%.

The nodal return was four degrees from exact and transiting Saturn was within 3 degrees of the Index South Node. The July eclipse would fall on Jupiter so a reversal seemed unlikely. The fall of Lehman Brothers on Sept 15,2008 and no aspects appeared to be available to break the fall. The January 28, 2009 eclipse would be opposed Jupiter a possible break.

The low happened on March 3, 2009 and the South node made a conjunction to Jupiter on April 20, 2009. The first ‘V’ was in and the Dow would move up 25% in the weeks that followed.

Second "V" in the Dow?

Will there be a second ‘V’ ? The next eclipse in January 15 at 25 Capricorn and it is followed by an eclipse on July 11 at 20 Cancer. There are a lot of transits in between to cause trouble for the Dow, but enough to cause a significant reversal of trend?

Oh let’s just speculate that all is quiet on the Dow until the Nodes move to Sagittarius and Gemini in 2011 and the next eclipse is 11 degrees Gemini June 1,2011 is conjunct the Sun Pluto conjunction of the Dow index. On that eclipse Uranus will also be conjunct the Index Mars. Within a month of the aspect expect a reversal of trend and make your stops secure.

Conclusion: The dates provided by Smith Barney are the actual dates for highs and lows in the Index. The dates I have mentioned under Gibberish might not fit their exact criteria, but they are close enough for nodal work. The Dow Index does not always set the tone of the market and there are numerous factors that influence its rise and fall. However the transiting nodes and eclipses have a pretty good track record.

Investor Fear and The Grand Cross

The 10 o'clock hour on Wall Street - Dow Jones Industrial Avg.
"The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 148 points to 10526 points and a surge in demand for Treasurys pushed the yield on the 10-year note to its lowest level in more than a year. The Nasdaq Composite slid 1.3% to 2263. The Standard & Poor's 500-stock index fell below its 200-day moving average, tumbling 1.4% to 1110." WSJ AUGUST 6, 2010, 1:31 P.M. ET

In these two charts  you can see that the market dropped dramatically as Saturn was exactly conjunct the Ascendant at 10:03 am.  Pluto was in a transiting formation conjunct the IC and square the ASC.

Dow Index: Happy Solar Return

Happy Solar Return to the Dow Jones Industrial Average

Think of the symbol for Aquarius. Think about the graph for Dow. Starting with 2005 its graph is starting to look almost the same as the Aquarius Symbol.
It could have something to do with Neptune transiting Aquarius and making a conjunction to the Dow's natal North Node "Groups of people that tend to shape us for the good and bad luck in life" Easy Predictions with Solar Returns.

The interesting transit that is very obvious in this chart is the Jupiter station at 3 degrees Aries from July 11, 2010- August 8, 2010 then return the second week in February. It will be conjunct the Dow's Mars square Pluto and opposed the Saturn/Mars conjunction. Jupiter tends to make me very optimistic and there are times when I know that everything is working together for the best. I know that Jupiter in Aries will bring to our attention a tremendous number of new ways to make the wheel go around. I know the world economy is going through a tremendous paradigm shift. Magnificent inventions are in the pipe line and if you travel around the countryside you will see solar panels operating traffic signs or on roof tops, and windmills in cornfields. Jupiter infuses Mars with a lot of energy. Sometimes too much energy will pour into the Index and it could become accident prone as it did when the Flash Crash occurred May 6 when Neptune was conjunct its North Node.

Dow is in for a wild roller coaster ride this summer.

In my Textbook for Financial Astrology 4, I illustrate how the May 26, 1896 Dow chart seems to more accurately reflect the ups and downs of the markets than the first Dow Index published July 3, 1884. Transiting Neptune as well as the Dow's natal Neptune with a planetary conjunction in the chart usually indicates a market reversal.
Example: After July 23, 2002 the Dow moved up more than 10% At that point in time the transiting North Node was conjunct natal Neptune Transiting Saturn was conjunct Mercury. Transiting Mercury was conjunct Jupiter and transiting Uranus was conjunct the North Node. It was the beginning of a long bull market. September 2007, transiting Saturn followed by Venus made a conjunction to the Dow's South Node initiating the 20+% down trend for the averages. The averages fell almost 60% until April 2009 when Pluto made a square to the Dow's Mars which it continues to square throughout 2010 and 2011.

But what about 2010 and 2011?

Let's see if we can read the Dow's Solar Return chart and predict its year ahead. Today the average is close at 9,974 and the Dow seems to like that number.

Neptune falls in the first house. We can expect controversial changes in the mix of companies selected to be in the Dow 30. Jupiter and Uranus in the second suggest wild swings throughout the year ahead as money navigates to Blue Chips dividend paying stocks. Mercury in the third, a lot of discussion and publicity concerning the stocks that are part of the Index. Sun in the fourth, the Dow examines their criteria for inclusion of a company in the index. Venus in the fifth says that the Dow wants everyone to know its value and that it isn't afraid to take a risk now and then. Mars in the seventh, the companies in the Dow add to their value with a number of mergers as well as spin offs. Saturn in the eighth means these same companies have no idea what to do about the restrictions imposed by tax laws. Solar Return Moon in the ninth and natal Moon in the tenth suggests changes in the image as well as dissemination of knowledge concerning all the companies in the Dow Index. Pluto in the eleventh, the index is severely criticized for all the changes made by the editors at the Wall Street Journal.

Thank you Karen Anderson for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the honor.

COSMIC BUMP

Real Time Financial Astrology
Ted asked me to share our lesson last night. We are reviewing some of the ideas presented in Textbook 2 using current events to illustrate the aphorisms.

kaye: Hard to explain this but the scientists expect the solar max to be 2012-14 but it really looks like a sharp spike up will happen about summer 2010.
ted: The sun has gotten much more active.
kaye: The flares correlate with the Iceland volcano and the oil rig blaze.

RULE OF THREE
ted: The planets activity this summer should do something?
kaye: It should make a mess but the next mess coming up is Jupiter changing signs
ted: I can't wait for Uranus to change signs.
kaye: Markets need to make a sector change as to what is abundant and what is in short supply
ted: The market is going for a double dip?
kaye: Yes, Before I get into this I have a comment on Mars.
kaye: Mars in Leo has had a great run with gold since he turned direct. Little ups and downs but a steady climb.
kaye: Remember the rule of three?
kaye: Last week in May First 10 days in June Mars, Jupiter and Uranus change signs
ted: You have made a great call. The rule of three you need three planet events to make happen
ted: Gold goes to the roof?
kaye: Actually there are two more the Jupiter Saturn opposition and Jupiter conjunct Uranus
kaye: Gold doesn't like Virgo much. I'm almost ready to call for it to go down.
kaye: I'm willing to bet every Taxi driver in New York is saying buy gold, and when that happens the market goes the opposite way.
ted: If the market breaks, gold up?
kaye: I mean gold breaks
ted: Do you think the market is up this summer
kaye: I know it is hard to imagine.
kaye: I think the whole system breaks down, and it could very well be just a natural disaster
ted: The return of Christ?
kaye: We couldn't be that lucky. For example: this week a rogue satellite is moving in front of the satellite used to transmit cable TV.They may have figured a way around by now but that was the report on Friday

ECLIPSES and CURRENCY ?
ted: Do you see the currencies going as well?
kaye: Yes I see the dollar is under severe stress in the opinion of the public
ted: Do you still see the yuan floated this summer?
kaye: The Euro might last till the end of the year but its value will decrease also
ted: What about the pound?
kaye: Yes I think they have to float because of the dollar and the euro otherwise they have no income from their exports.
kaye: Cameron is an interesting choice since he was chosen on the Mercury station
ted: The Swiss frank is still 20% backed by gold
kaye: He is a financial expert.
ted: Will he save the pound?
kaye: The English can stiff upper lip it. All they need to see is the Euro having trouble and they will cut back every expensive program they fund.
ted: I think the breakup of the euro is a given. Too many countries integrated with bad financial conditions
ted: Do you see the Euro busting this year?
kaye: The angles on the Euro chart are stressed by the cardinal cross. Then Saturn squares their Sun in Oct.
kaye: OK remember this about eclipses. When an eclipse is conjunct your Venus then your guardian angle goes on vacation
kaye: The Euro's Venus is 25 Capricorn and hit by the January 2010 eclipse
kaye: Euro's guardian angel is on vacation now.
kaye: January 2011 eclipse falls on the Euro Sun.
ted: Looks like Euro is in big trouble for a long time. Eclipse pushes the price down for Euro and it gets a respite and then the eclipse hits its personality and the union falls.
kaye: In the meantime the Brits clean up their pound, hopefully
ted: The eclipse to the Euro Sun ends the union?
kaye: The problem with the Euro is it was invented backwards and does not have a "constitution" or Sun to keep the people supporting it. It is really a true fiat currency.
ted: The Sun in the Euro chart is on the IC
kaye: Eclipse knocks down its home
ted: The foundation will go
ted: You need to write about this amazing prediction
kaye: Its home/ Sun in the 4th is supposed to be a vault of gold backing it. it is a Midnight chart so I guess it’s glory is in its underground vaults.

HISTORY
ted: Ma sha allah's book on history lists Jupiter Saturn conj and ingresses will give a pump
ted: out from the conj
ted: with all the planets ingresses a cosmic bump is at hand
ted: This may be the shot rippling to 2012 where I think the galactic alignment is like a node an extreme
kaye: Yeah I remember and we have to see it as a world wide ordeal. Cosmic bump?
ted: Euro , Dollar, gold, market all finished within a year?
kaye: So if we muddle through June we face a similar crisis in Dec/Jan where we find more ingresses bunched in a short period of time
ted: More ingresses or declinations or aspects
ted: The study of the markets go back to ancient Greece,
kaye: Yes, kind of ironic that Greece is the catalyst for today’s Euro problem.

SATURN DIRECT and INGRESS INTO LIBRA
kaye: on May 30 and that could push the markets up or at least it has done so 6 out of 8 times this century.
kaye: Add the Jupiter Uranus conjunction with 80% up
kaye: and it looks kind of like Humpty Dumpty could fall into the eclipse.
ted: If the Dollar goes down the market usually goes up, right?
kaye: Sounds weird to say the dollar down and the market up but it does make sense.
kaye: Also Saturn will change signs back to Libra July 21 which means that the problems will be Libra problems and the Virgo health and labor problems will no longer capture the markets attention
kaye: of the public scrutiny Therefore expect retail to have a problem especially high end and the arts will suffer funding
ted: Problem with lack of copper, right? It is on the Libra list.
kaye: Yeah I forgot about copper and also trees/forests
kaye: I don't follow copper I should look it up.
ted: Does Libra rule sugar I think sugar is Libra and when Saturn visited Libra it was a big up
kaye: It is a luxury commodity. Coffee and cocoa would also fit Libra
ted: Saturn will tell its tale in or out of Libra
kaye: Yes especially when it squares Pluto and opposes Jupiter. But maybe thinking about luxury items will give us a clue to the transit
ted: Does the commodity if ruled by Libra go up(scarcity), with Saturn direct and down , Saturn retro?
kaye: You might research it. It would be easy just using this years commodity charts.
ted: Gold is Leo with Mars in Leo retro and direct did it go up with direct motion?
kaye: Commodities are seasonal so it would work for a while but then fall apart since Saturn is retro about 4 months
kaye: Gold is a very special commodity because it isn't consumed and can't be replaced
kaye: That is why Leo rules gold and the Moon rules silver
ted: Can't be replaced?
kaye: right
kaye: Saturn direct means the book keeper has to face problems head on and tell the salesman to sit down and shut up
kaye: That is why we can see this banking crisis hitting and hitting hard
ted: Maybe everything is going down with the market.
ted: This time it will get hit just like the great depression, the low took 3 years to come.
kaye: Yep and we are really facing it again and no one can change the star patterns.

kaye: You could check helio charts for the next month and see if you can predict the return of sun spots
ted: ok I will do the work for the return of sunspots
kaye: and check spaceweather.com every day there are rarely spots on new moons but by the end of the week we might have some and you are looking for spots near the sun's equator
kaye: those tend to send flares in earth
kaye: earth's direction
ted: It should increase with the planet activity up
kaye: which could bring up the price of copper in a big hurry since flares melt copper
ted: like those telegraph lines
kaye: It should but history says the sun is a lot better at making a mess than humans
kaye: Modern man is copper dependent
ted: This could be the natural disaster you were talking about
ted: Sometimes the sun sits still for a long time and than lets go
kaye: right, the sun has had the week off I expect activity for the next two weeks.
kaye: Look at the helio charts OK?
ted: OK

This is what happens in my classes. We apply sky patterns to current events, and have fun exchanging ideas as we apply the aphorisms in the lessons. You can join the fun. Just send an E mail. If you know investing, you will learn astrology. If you know astrology you will learn about investing.

note:
I edited the lesson a little bit taking out the misspelled words and adding punctuation. We hope you see how an online class works.
Ted passed the test for Textbook 2 and has started the lessons in Textbook 3. He is interested in macro economics as they apply to the markets. He is also a spirited supporter of Project Hindsight.

Dow 30 Industrials

Marlene and I plan to attend the ISAR Conference in Chicago's western suburb Oakbrook August 20-23. Both of us plan to go to as many lectures as possible on the Financial Astrology track.

I have learned from experience to assemble in a 3-ring binder a copy of each Dow stock's Incorporation and IPO chart. I carry it with me to the lectures and then make notes right on the chart according to the various observations of the presenters. It is one way I force myself to keep all of the lecture notes in one place. In fact I even put the handouts from the lectures in the same notebook.

OK Kaye where do you find all of the charts for the Dow stocks?
Easy I share my collection with you all in my Textbook for Financial Astrology Book 3.

ALSO
Available Now at Astrological Investing is an E-Book for Students and Financial Astrologers of the charts for the companies that are included in the Dow 30.

Students of Astrology who are new to the study of Financial Astrology will just have fun with the Dow 30 E book. It's like a coloring book, black and white pictures of horoscopes with plenty of white space for scribbles.

The Dow 30 E book contains both the Incorporation and IPO chart for each company in the Dow 30.
At Astrological Investing our experience has shown that although the date for the Initial Public Offering is important when determining the direction for price of an individual stock, it is the Incorporation chart that determines the health of the company.  Folks who use the lessons of Astrological Investing need to check both the Inc. and IPO charts before they move on to technical analysis as well as historical research of the company's business.

Household Hint:  Print the E book.  ( I just printed a copy for Marlene because she has a very slow printer.) Whenever you read a headline, write the date on the chart for the company.  In a few days you will be able to determine how the headline affected the price of the stock. If there is a significant rise or fall in price then you can check the Ephemeris or LLewellyn calendar for the planetary transit involved in the news headline.

We really hope to meet as many members of Astrological Investing as possible. Please introduce yourselves. OK?

The Dow Jones Shuffle

Only 30 Blue Chip Cards Allowed in the Deck.

Did the energy of the planets zap these companies that were too big to fail? Maybe poor little demoted Pluto stacked the deck. If you have The Textbook for Financial Astrology you might check all of the charts for the Dow and see if Pluto is ready to zap yet another fine old established Blue Chip company that is to big to fail.

"t" Pluto, Uranus, and Mars did a fine job of destroying AIG.
I use a "t" for as a symbol for a transiting planet.

For General Motors Incorporation chart it is t Mars conjunct Jupiter, t Pluto opposed natal Pluto, the t South Node conjunct Saturn and an approaching Nodal return. The same is true for GM's IPO which was issued only two months after its incorporation. Last year when GM's hole was so deep it couldn't climb out Pluto was conjunct GM's IPO Sun and Uranus was conjunct Chiron. (Chiron seems to be important in company charts)
Citigroup's Incorporation chart has t Pluto conjunct Uranus and Saturn. The IPO chart has the t North Node conjunct Neptune. They could survive but not until they spin off a few divisions.

Here is your new data. Any astrological ideas why these companies replaced the former giants of the DOW ?

Travelers (TVR), Incorporation Mar 5 1853 12:00 pm LMT St. Paul Mn, IPO Feb 27 2007 9:30 am EST NYNY

Cisco Systems(CSCO), Incorporation Dec. 10 1984 12:00 pm PST Sacramento Ca. IPO Feb 16 1990 9:30 am EST NYNY.
Remember last fall when AIG was replaced by Kraft (KFT) , Incorporation Dec 7 2000 at 5:00 pm Delaware and the IPO is June 13 2001 9:45 am EDT NYNY
The announcement Monday June 1st of the changes to the 30 stocks that make up the best-known barometer of Wall Street comes as GM enters bankruptcy protection, a move that was widely expected.
Dow Jones said in a statement that Travelers the property and casualty insurer and one-time division of Citigroup would replace its former parent. Cisco, which makes computer networking gear, is filling the hole left by GM after 83 years as part of the Dow.
Kraft replaced AIG in 2008.

The actual changes will be in effect June 8, 2009.http://www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/shop.html
