Jupiter in Leo ... the affected sectors

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com  The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning July 14,  2014 

The head honcho of the Old Gods ... Gee,Zeus, Jupiter, the Fatboy ... goes into the Fire sign, Leo, this week.

He'll be heading to the salon for a new "do" and shopping for a set of the emperor's new clothes.

I probably shouldn't be making fun of the guy who throws thunderbolts around when he's off his Adderall, but have you ever tried swapping jokes with Saturn?! Ugh.

Anyway, I received a note during the week from a reader wanting some further explanation of how Jupiter affects sector rotation ... the regular shift of money away from the popular to the unpopular.

I've touched on this a few times and you might want to take another look at the January 20 Eye of Ra in the Archives.

Basically, though, Jupiter increases either the demand, or the supply. The biggest impacts tend to be in the sectors ruled by the sign Jupiter is entering - Leo; the sign he's opposing - Aquarius; and the signs he's squaring - Taurus and Scorpio.

In January, I urged you all to look at gold and gold mining stocks for a possible long-range shift in the trend. So far, so good ... and that trend shift is giving fairly strong indications of being underway.

The other sectors ruled by Leo are: Amusement parks, gambling and casinos, games and toys, jewelry, recreational vehicles and stock brokers.

Aquarius rules: Aerospace and aircraft, computers and technology, radio and TV broadcasting, electrical equipment, satellites and stock market profits.

Taurus and Scorpio rule: Banks and insurance, debt and taxes, copper, bonds, financial institutions, cattle, candy and corn.

So, the idea is that we look at stocks in those sectors to see which ones appear to have been putting in a solid, long-range bottom OR are showing distinct signs of topping out.

Okay, a reminder that this week brings a Bradley major trend change date.

Let's see where we are ... starting with the Pollyanna index, Wall Street's SP500. She dropped to the Node line at 1952 last week, but bounced back into the Node range now priced from 1955 to a whisker above 2000.

The DJIA is riding a technical channel, unable to climb back inside the upper tier ... and with no new peak in the Big Bird canary since March 2013.

On the northern side of the lakes, Toronto is stalling at a long-range planetary price level. The index made a Bear bottom at a Pluto/Node zone and is now testing a higher level zone priced from the 15,100s to 15,900s.

On the other side of The Pond, London's FTSE continues in its range-bound torpor. It makes Midsommer Murders looks like a Michael Bay action movie.

 

Germany still can't keep its head above the long-range Pluto barrier in the early 10,000s.

Paris is swooning, though may have reached a bounce level.

And dear old Auntie, the ASX 200, hit 5532 again ... and reached for the smelling salts. Again.

I indicated recently I could see no instance on the gold charts where a rally stalled before hitting an upside Sun or Pluto line. And there still isn't one, since the price of gold made contact with both of them last week.

This is your month to do all of your favorite things. Sign up for fun classes, take an educational tour, visit a few book stores (brick and mortar or online) and be sure to respond to holiday party invitations.

Early Sagittarius will have abundant energy, therefore all efforts to improve their residence will pay dividends. Early Sagittarius need to keep their receipts in a file folder.

 This Month For Scorpio
You will need to be very interested in taking care of your personal transportation. If you need new wheels it is best to purchase them after November 18. Check the educational offers on your favorite ‘e’ trading site and practice the new skills with their virtual trader. Your piggy bank is hungry, feed it.

Advice for everyone - During the next six months I encourage every Sun Sign to take control of your personal environment and reclaim your power. This will be a short holiday shopping season. Shop with cash and save your receipts. Neptune remains alone in Aquarius, therefore everyone's computer fingers are in danger of being careless.

The New Moon appears in the eighth house -November 16th (Non USA members please set the New Moon chart for the capital of your country and note the house position of the New Moon - Textbook 4, page 30 will help you interpret the new moon for your own country)

The New Moon in the eighth means that the concentration of the public is on insurance and taxes. It is the reaction of government to add more taxes when they have a shortfall in their collections. The public sees the problem as if you don't have a job, you cannot earn any money to pay the taxes. This quiet boycott is cutting into the projected collection of tax revenues. The same is true with insurance. There is also a problem of leadership passing away. No one is available to explain how to get things done efficiently or to encourage managers to help the employees do their work.

Mercury in the eighth house
Folks are concerned with the laws that require unexpected taxes when dealing with gifts and inheritance. The world wide web is helpful but others will require detailed advise to solve the problems. Doctors, lawyers and accountants will find that their services are in demand.

Venus in the eighth house
Venus is very intense in Scorpio and insists that you consider thrifty purchases with your earned income. Problem is that a great deal of energy is required to earn the income needed to pay for purchases, and thrifty takes time and thought. Folks are silently rebelling against certain taxes by boycotting items that require excess taxes. Fewer sin taxes are collected when fewer items are sold.

Pluto in the tenth house
Executives and government leaders are in the midst of some awkward situations concerning the management of their assigned projects. Pluto is square Saturn, therefore suggesting that leaders are stuck on the issue of finding experts for advise. Professional advisers are busy helping their friends and neighbors and explain that they are not available to help corporate or government leadership. The public's perception of their work is that they have no concept of a budget. Leaders are striving for absolute power and finding folks not very cooperative.

Jupiter in the twelfth house
Jupiter is in the final degrees of Aquarius and in the twelfth house. Scandals concerning fraud, embezzlement and secret detention prisons will scandalize various governments and institutions. Officials will be exposed for their heavy expenses and ludicrous book keeping. The internet will help bring the performance of these officials to the attention of the public.

Neptune in the twelfth house
Fraud is in abundant supply. Information concerning the mismanagement of the receipts of supposedly respected charitable institutions overwhelms the public. Scandals concerning the administration of services meant to help the poor, handicapped and minorities proliferate. Donations to these charities diminish quickly.

Uranus in the tenth
Innovation is a key word with Uranus, and management will have the opportunity to reform their actions. People are extremely dissatisfied with the performance of their leaders, but are willing to listen to announcements and disclosures that promise improvements. Governments seek to console the populace by adding more controls that promise to reform the administration of public institutions.

The best example of the changes brought by Uranus in Pisces is the creation of a whole new business model for the sale and distribution of music. This holiday season will spell the end of music sales through traditional venues. Creative folks at every level have seen massive changes concerning the sale of their products. Content providers, whether writing fact or fiction, must adapt to the same drastic changes that are very obvious in the field of music.

Expect that Uranus will do the same to manufacturing next year when he starts his transit through Aries starting in June, 2010.

Mars in the fifth house
Mars in Leo will create some wonderful new games and toys. Mars here puts a great deal of stress on entertainment venues. Audiences are very tense and not easily pleased by the actors, musicians and sports teams they paid to amuse them.

Saturn in the seventh
There are opportunities here to solve some international problems using diplomacy and talking one on one. The conflict is between the need for fair treatment and the desire for power. Folks are dissatisfied with current conditions and look to their leaders for answers to their difficulties. Few leaders are available to help.
