Jupiter in Leo ... the affected sectors

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com  The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning July 14,  2014 

The head honcho of the Old Gods ... Gee,Zeus, Jupiter, the Fatboy ... goes into the Fire sign, Leo, this week.

He'll be heading to the salon for a new "do" and shopping for a set of the emperor's new clothes.

I probably shouldn't be making fun of the guy who throws thunderbolts around when he's off his Adderall, but have you ever tried swapping jokes with Saturn?! Ugh.

Anyway, I received a note during the week from a reader wanting some further explanation of how Jupiter affects sector rotation ... the regular shift of money away from the popular to the unpopular.

I've touched on this a few times and you might want to take another look at the January 20 Eye of Ra in the Archives.

Basically, though, Jupiter increases either the demand, or the supply. The biggest impacts tend to be in the sectors ruled by the sign Jupiter is entering - Leo; the sign he's opposing - Aquarius; and the signs he's squaring - Taurus and Scorpio.

In January, I urged you all to look at gold and gold mining stocks for a possible long-range shift in the trend. So far, so good ... and that trend shift is giving fairly strong indications of being underway.

The other sectors ruled by Leo are: Amusement parks, gambling and casinos, games and toys, jewelry, recreational vehicles and stock brokers.

Aquarius rules: Aerospace and aircraft, computers and technology, radio and TV broadcasting, electrical equipment, satellites and stock market profits.

Taurus and Scorpio rule: Banks and insurance, debt and taxes, copper, bonds, financial institutions, cattle, candy and corn.

So, the idea is that we look at stocks in those sectors to see which ones appear to have been putting in a solid, long-range bottom OR are showing distinct signs of topping out.

Okay, a reminder that this week brings a Bradley major trend change date.

Let's see where we are ... starting with the Pollyanna index, Wall Street's SP500. She dropped to the Node line at 1952 last week, but bounced back into the Node range now priced from 1955 to a whisker above 2000.

The DJIA is riding a technical channel, unable to climb back inside the upper tier ... and with no new peak in the Big Bird canary since March 2013.

On the northern side of the lakes, Toronto is stalling at a long-range planetary price level. The index made a Bear bottom at a Pluto/Node zone and is now testing a higher level zone priced from the 15,100s to 15,900s.

On the other side of The Pond, London's FTSE continues in its range-bound torpor. It makes Midsommer Murders looks like a Michael Bay action movie.

 

Germany still can't keep its head above the long-range Pluto barrier in the early 10,000s.

Paris is swooning, though may have reached a bounce level.

And dear old Auntie, the ASX 200, hit 5532 again ... and reached for the smelling salts. Again.

I indicated recently I could see no instance on the gold charts where a rally stalled before hitting an upside Sun or Pluto line. And there still isn't one, since the price of gold made contact with both of them last week.

They must be careful and ask lots of questions. 

And Happy Solar Return to our Pisces friends, born February 18 through March 3, who have found interesting work, new interests, and a less demanding environment. The year ahead is full of good feelings and a lot less pressure. Early Pisces are also concerned with risk management, and must be especially careful with the details involved in each risky investment. Pisces should avoid investing risking more than 5% of their assets.

Both signs will enjoy the months ahead with time to play, exercise, attend concerts and relax.

This Month For Aquarius

Now is the time to review your portfolio, and evaluate new ways to invest your cash. Do the math and determine exactly the percentage of cash you are willing to risk on new investments. Continue to research and maybe add something new to your portfolio before the end of the month. It is important to take some time to play and relax.

This Month For Pisces

Continue writing in your strategy notebook and start adding new IPO’s with promising new products. You have a two (three, wrong ) month window with only Chiron in your Sun sign therefore enhancing your ability to think out of the box and determine a strategy for your investments in the years ahead.

Advice for everyone - During the next five months I encourage every Sun Sign to take control of your personal environment and reclaim your power. February 10th and 11th are good days to open a savings account to deposit the extra funds you earn this month.

Household Hint : Thrifty is the new status symbol! This will be a good year to start a business.

If you are a Pisces Sun, this is your year Pisces. It is going to be confusing, but you can handle it. Just lock up your credit cards and let others bring you gifts. Make a wish list, or better yet, make an astrological Treasure Map. If you are a late Aquarius Sun - born at the end of the Sun Sign Aquarius - continue to take good care of your electronic toys and keep their guarantees in a safe place. Find a place to recycle your old equipment - and your storage shed or basement is not an option! Take some time to relax and play; the next few months should find you solving a plethora of problems.

This Month For Pisces

Last month you practiced having fun, now do it for real. The New Moon weekend is filled with parties, try not to miss a single one. Join the crowd! You might also have some fun in the commodities market. Practice online trading before you actually put real money to work. You will be lucky with your investment ideas, but you have to do the research.

Advice for everyone - not just for Pisces! During the past few years I have encouraged every Sun Sign to save some money, limit their trading with excellent stops and to develop hobbies. 2010 is the year to watch for IPO's. Read the descriptions and start looking for great new inventions. Neptune is all alone in Aquarius, therefore everyone's computer fingers are in danger of being careless. Make it a practice to write your order into a notebook then triple check your order before you push the buy or sell button.

If you are Capricorn, you have been trying your best to keep your life in order and it just refuses to obey. If you are a Aquarius Sun life has been reading directions and plugging in your devises and finding surge protectors and batteries. It is important for you to take care of all of your computers and make sure to properly file your warranty papers.

Are the Stars Aligned for Health Care?

President Obama says, "The stars are aligned for Health Care."

"What?" I said to myself. "Which astrologer is he using?" 

No, sorry Mr. President Mercury is retrograde. If communications can get garbled then they will with Mercury rx. Legislation such as TARP passed within the boundaries of Mercury rx and the administration has changed the rules at least a dozen times. Mercury rx makes a mess.

But let's look at Pisces and Virgo and Chiron all have something to do with Health Care. Are there any stars ready to take on the task of health?

Pisces rules hospitals and the planet currently transiting this sign is Uranus. Uranus loves to usurp the current paradigm. He likes to turn everything inside out upside down and backwards. OK I'm not sure I want to go to a hospital that has been turned upside down. Add government employees to the mix and I'm sure I prefer to stay home.

Virgo is the sign that rules uniformed servants such as nurses, doctors and security services. Saturn is transiting this sign suggesting that these folks have plenty to complain about. Low wages, overwork, and difficult working conditions. Not sure these folks will listen to my complaints when their complaints are far more life threatening.

Chiron is the wounded healer. He is transiting Aquarius. He is a great teacher but right now his interests are focused on gadgets that plug into the wall. He wants to put cool machines all over the hospitals and attach leashes to the personnel.

My opinion: if the President thinks the stars are aligned to pass health care legislation, then his astrologer lives in a different solar system.

May New Moon: Jupiter and Neptune

Jupiter and Neptune are together in the Second House of Money. 

May New Moon report has the following paragraph explaining the economics of the month of May

Optimistically:  This Jupiter will expand the earnings of the populace, the bankers, the financial folks. The problem of too much earned income is solved with creative accounting. Creativity will abound and clever ideas will be monetized. Loans to banks will be paid back quickly.Local taxes will decrease because of pressure from local merchants.

Pessimistically: Bank failures will continue to make headlines. Too much money causes chaos in the monetary system. The amount of money in the system is confusing and creativity for its use abounds among purveyors of fraudulent schemes. There will be investigations and reporting of white collar criminals as well as common but clever thieves.

Scandals Abound

It looks like there is a huge scandal brewing concerning the bond holders at Chrysler and the Tarp money for the Banks. It seems that a lot of threats of smearing names as well as theoretically holding a gun to the heads of the executives of the various corporations and banks involved.  Scandals are emerging right before the Mercury Rx. That means the financial reporters will have to write and rewrite.  Some ugly rumors are sneaking out the back door of the White House and others are falling down the stairs of Congress. The reporters for the financial journals will have to write E Books to help everyone keep up with the breaking news about who is in trouble this week.

Welcome to Astrological Investing's blog. We'll be blogging on current astrological events, financial astrology, and posting excerpts from articles found at our financial astrology articles page on the home site.

Each month when she sends the New Moon newsletter to subscribers, Marley will post the upcoming monthly calendars of daily planetary aspects for the NYSE, FTSE and the ASX time zones. (Even though these will be posted for your use, we still recommend having a Llewellyn Astrological Calendar, - and if you haven't purchased your 2009 calendar yet, it can be purchased from astrologicalinvesting.com's Amazon affiliated bookstore.)

For a while now, we have felt that Astrologicalinvesting.com really needed a blog - changing and updating the web site pages for a few paragraphs with astrological comments at random times is only easily done in a blogging format. Also, along with our blogging comes the ability for members and visitors to comment or ask questions.

We determined that 8:15 on Saturday February 21, 2009 would be the day to announce and launch the blog. (Click on the chart image to see it zoomed to full size.)

Launching the Blog and Chart Interpretation

What we really wanted, of course, was perfect timing for the initial launch of this blog. And being astrologers one would figure we would have control of our future and success with being able to choose the perfect timing, right?

Well there are limits in this mortal world - and perfection is hard to come by. And...well, from experience, we have learned that some of our best designs have been laughed at, not just by mortals, but by the Gods themselves - or whatever Supreme Power there is up there making sure that mere mortals are humbled if they dare aspire Hubris. (Of course, when we made our mistakes we learned the very hardest, first-hand way to do astrological research!)

Looking at an ephemeris for the year 2009, we found nothing resembling "Perfect" timing. Saturn's opposition with Uranus along with retrograde periods of Mercury and Venus threw out more than half the year!

And yet we felt strongly about the addition of this blog.

So, in the light of the astrological landscape, if we really wanted to launch a blog in 2009 - and we did - we felt we needed to give it our best shot in February when there would be a huge line-up of Aquarian planets, and an extraordinary cluster of mutual receptions.

Jupiter and Neptune in mutual reception being in each others traditionally ruled signs; Uranus and Neptune in mutual reception in each others modern ruled signs; Uranus in Pisces and Jupiter Aquarius in mutual reception in a mix of rulerships! Saturn and Mercury in each others traditionally ruled signs.

Also, the Saturn Uranus opposition would be separating.

Not a perfect chart, but one with plenty of promise.

The Aries Point - Looking at the chart you will see that the angles are at 0 degrees in Cardinal signs. Cardinal Points will add a thrust of "prominence" to the blog. The Aries Point (which is what 0 degrees Cardinal is called) certainly gives it a full promise of our blog being viewed!

Venus rules the chart with Libra on the Ascendant. Although Venus is not strong nor particularly happy in the zodiac sign of Aries (she is considered in "detriment" in Aries) all that is set aside, as she is lifted up and "accidentally" dignified by her angular presence in her Natural home, the 7th house.

The Moon, although decreasing in light, will progress to conjunct the N Node, Mercury, Jupiter, Mars and Neptune before she reaches the Sun; and she too, is also "accidentally" dignified by her 4th house placement; and Venus and La Luna are involved in very promising sextile aspects in the horoscope.

Venus sextiles Jupiter and Mars; while the Moon is exact sextile to the Ascendant, ruled by Venus.

The Sun is in the imaginatively creative sign of Pisces in the 6th house; after having moved away from his detrimental sign of Aquarius, he trines the MC. For those Fixed Stars enthusiasts, notice the Sun is conjunct a fortunate fixed star, Formalhaut. Formalhuat can bring eminence, fortune and power, "it is often linked with a destiny towards occult or religious affairs and is said by Ebertin and Hoffman to offer success for scientists and writers".

Uranus is also in the 6th. Uranus rules the internet and many astrologers agree it rules astrology.

We interpret the placement of the Sun and Uranus in the 6th as an indicator of the very fact that the blog will serve the needs of the astrologicalinvesting.com Home site - which is basically, a financial astrology teaching web site on the world wide web. Considering that the Sixth house rules High School education, and since we teach the basics of financial astrology - not at an "elementary nor university level" (and definitely not with the usual approach to understanding financial markets!), it seems fitting to have the Sun - and Uranus placed there.

Reminded of how much fun the 5th house is - a stellium resides in the 5th house - so we are planning to have some fun with this.

Gambling. Risk taking. Fifth house things. That is what astrologicalinvesting.com discusses on a regular basis - We talk about investments, enterprises, reducing our risk in the market, and taking chances; we bet that with a combination of fundamental and technical analysis in concert with astrology we'll get it right and make some money.

The fifth house is a money house and it has to do with taking care of what you have earned and risking it on your idea. (And personally we feel that making money is a fun idea!)

Jupiter in the 5th is strong conjunct Mars; sextile Venus, gives us much luck - and from those aspects give us the courage to go where some may fear to tread.

Jupiter conjunct Mercury in Aquarius. *Ahem* need we say more? This is a BLOG for goodness sake! We have big ideas and plan to tell you all about them! We expect to quench your thirst for knowledge - and learn some stuff too. :-)

Pluto in the fourth, prominently placed on the IC square the Ascendant reflects the dramatic changes we are making with our web identity. Pluto is sextile the Sun promising Power in the way we express ourselves, and offering opportunity for self renewal when necessary. Pluto in the 4th also gives Power at home - which is where we work, and want it. It's where we do our stuff and take command of things.

The Uranus Saturn opposition is separating. In Horary astrology separating aspects represent the past. Though this is not a horary chart, we hope that we have learned our lessons of the past; and the tension created by these two Lords in the 6th and 12th houses expresses our desire to serve and teach. Moving forward into the future with respect for what we have learned in the past.

And so...it is launched. February 21, 2009. 8:15 PM CST.

The Four Horsemen of Technology

Jim Cramer on his CNBC Show, Mad Money, talks about four stocks he considers the hardest working stocks in the technology sector. Of course he is right, but I thought I would double check his idea to see if a financial astrologer agreed with his assessment.

Apocalypse, Apple [AAPL 102.51], Google [GOOG 378.77] Research in Motion [RIMM 59.00 ] and Amazon.com [AMZN 66.71].

They are stocks that thrive. They thrive at the expense of their competitors. They work 24/7 when the rest of tech is on a seasonal hiatus.

ENIAC debut was Feb. 14, 1946.

Jupiter transiting Aquarius is really good for the computer industry. It started Feb 14 1946 when IBM introduced ENIAC to the public. This chart has Mercury Sun and Venus in Aquarius trine Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Gemini. Therefore Jupiter moving through Aquarius will put an emphasis on the invention.

AAPL

In my Textbook for Financial Astrology I talk about Apple as a stock dependent on the founder Steve Jobs. However, the genius of this stock is not only its founder but its chart. (Inc. January 3,1977 : IPO Dec 12, 1980) Jupiter's transit of Aquarius puts it is in the same sign as Venus of the Incorporation and Moon of the IPO chart. The Aquarius Jupiter trines the Moon of the Inc. chart and Jupiter/Saturn of the IPO chart. There are plenty of favorable long term aspects that will keep the company a pretty busy place for the year ahead.

GOOG

How about Google? ( Inc. Oct 22 2002 :IPO Aug 19, 2004). The Inc chart has Jupiter moving to a conjunction with Neptune and Uranus in Aquarius as well as making trines to Mars, Mercury, the Sun and Saturn. In the IPO chart Jupiter will conjunct Neptune and trine the Moon. Google will be totally engaged in finding ways to expand its reach throughout 2009.

AMZN

Amazon (Inc. May 28 1996 :IPO May 15 1997) Jupiter was conjunct Uranus in Aquarius and trine the Sun, Venus, and Moon of the Incorporation chart. For the IPO chart, Jupiter is in the same sign as Uranus and Jupiter and trine Venus. The business will continue to expand throughout 2009 and hard working employees will keep the company very busy.

RIMM

Research in Motion (Inc. Mar. 7 1984: IPO Feb 4 1999) RIMM's Inc. has Jupiter transiting its Venus in Aquarius and the IPO has Jupiter transiting right over its Aquarius stellium as well as a trine to its Moon. Sales should be excellent throughout the year.

Yes I know the word Apocalypse implies the end of the world.
