Storm warnings in space

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com  The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning July 21,  2014
The astrological weather patterns are about to make a dramatic change.

We have planets changing signs, changing directions, and making a series of intense, high-energy aspects with each other.

And since a lot of that energy is unleashed over the next week or so, it could be enough to generate a super storm.

Jupiter has now moved into Leo and is about to be joined by the Sun; Venus has moved into Cancer; Mercury is about to oppose Pluto and square Uranus; Saturn is changing to Direct motion while Uranus goes into Retrograde mode.

And the killer change is Mars finishing an unusually long journey through the diplomatic sign of Libra, shifting into Scorpio and heading for a conjunction with Saturn ... when the "drive" energy smashes into a brick wall.

Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio. Mars in his primary sign, Aries, is an all-action hero; more Ego than IQ. The Scorpio version is much, much deadlier ... a deep-thinking, deep-scheming, vengeful, poisonous piece of work who fights to the death.

I've discussed with you many times before how Pollyanna, the SP500, rises and falls within Martian channels between long-range Node price levels.

Other indices tend to do the same, though Uranus, Neptune or Pluto tend to be more reliable as horizontal price stoppers.

Anyway, let's have a look at where Polly is within her long-range Mars channels. In the chart below, I'm showing only the rising channels. We can see that the last Bear bottom was recorded with a small break of what I've labelled as the primary channel bottom.

Price rebounded from there to the next higher primary Mars line, which I've labelled as the channel top. We've had only one major breach outside of that primary channel ... the countertrend down marked with a yellow oval.

Okay, now let's move in for a close-up. The horizontal orange lines marked with 2003 and 1955 are primary Node prices. As I said, the SP500 tends to move in Martian channels between Node price levels.

So the $1955 to $2003 range is a major, long-range danger zone. The declining, dotted red lines are the Martian downtrend channels. In brief, a weekly close below the $1950s could well signal the start of a major correction in this index ... possibly even the start of a new Bear trend.

The ASX 200 has stalled yet again at the $5533 Saturn barrier on its Weekly Planets chart, after a failed attempt to breakout higher, falling a tad short of hitting the Uranus price line at $5565. We've had only a single weekly Close above this line since Auntie started playing with it 22 weeks ago. Breakout or breakdown, you old bat!

Now let's have a quick look at gold. At 2am New York time last Monday, the mysterious "somebody" suddenly dumped over a billion dollars worth of gold contracts onto the market. It was followed a few hours later by a multi-billion-dollar dump.

Obviously, it was yet another calculated move with only one aim ... to end the rally in gold prices. Nobody dumps a billion dollars worth of anything onto a thinly-traded 2am market expecting it will cause a price jump. It's designed solely to cause a selling panic when the markets open for real.

One suspects it was a co-ordinated move by big central banks. It's not the first time we've seen these out-of-hours, mega-billion dumps and it probably won't be the last.

However, it was not enough to totally trash the distinct possibility that a long-range bottom in the gold price was cemented with the double-bottom in June and December of 2013.

I raised the possibility some time ago that the trend had changed when gold moved out of its Sun downtrend channel. On the above chart, I add a blue technical downtrend line. It put a stop to the last rally, but it, too, has now been broken.

In fact, last week's plunge seems to be a retest of that line ... from the top side. If it holds, it is potentially very, very Bullish. We can't be too optimistic until price can break above the first Fibonacci Retracement barrier around $1350. If it can manage that, it will be doing so with quite extreme positive divergence readings in the Fast and Medium range Canaries on gold's monthly chart, indicating that the gold Bear is back in hibernation and a multi-year rally is underway.

Retrogrades will cause confusion

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning January 27, 2014
Predicting the intermediate future of markets is likely to be challenging for the first few months of 2014.

Venus, Mercury and Mars have a series of Retrogrades which will have traders, policy makers and politicians constantly changing direction.

We can all go nuts trying to work out what's happening. Or simply follow The Idiot.

A few weeks ago, all of the "experts" were certain 2014 was set to be another bumper year for stock markets. In the past few days, they've started to become a lot more uncertain.

After Friday's ugly slump, some are now worried it's the start of The Big One. Ho hum. It is, of course, possible; just not probable.

Venus goes back into Direct motion again next Friday, on the same day Jupiter opposes Pluto. The following week, Mercury will go Retrograde. And when it goes Direct, Mars will (appear to) go backwards.

The probability is that there will be a series of sharp moves and reversals throughout the first few months of the year.

Traders will need to stay nimble and not get married to any particular notion of what the markets "should" be doing.

Last weekend we took a broad look at the potential for a big turnaround in gold this year, examining the technical condition of the XAU, the Philadelphia gold and silver index, and three of the world's biggest gold miners. Their condition has only improved since.

Those of you who already have Forecast 2014 will realise that the price of gold itself hit a key Pluto target during Friday's trading ... and will also know all the other price levels likely to be of major importance throughout the year.

And the Forecast also contains the important planetary price levels for most of the world's leading stock indices.

I stress again that we cannot yet be certain that gold has made its final price Low. As I said last weekend, what we have is "a bounce from the obvious" and that bounces from the "obvious" - in gold's case, an apparent double-bottom - are sometimes relatively short-lived.

It is also "obvious" from the weekly chart below, that gold has a lot of work to do yet before we can be sure the correction from the 2011 peak is finished and that the metal is launching into a new Bull phase.

Gold made its double-bottom low on December 31 ... a second price Low that arrived with very significant positive divergence in our Big Bird oscillator, indicating strong potential for an intermediate-term bounceback.

While price on Friday ran into Pluto price resistance, it seems still to have more room to move higher before it starts running into the technical barriers.

The technical conditions in the gold weekly chart are pretty much the reverse of the SP500's chart. The build-up of negative divergence in Pollyanna's Big Bird was a long one.

As price climbed a channel, Big Bird made its last decent peak way back in May, 2013. In short, it's a build-up of divergence that won't be undone by a few days of price drops. However ugly.

But just as gold has a lot of work to do to overcome its technical barriers to launch into a new Bull phase, Miss Polly has lots of support levels which have to fail before we can declare a Bear.

So, let's not get caught-up in the talkfest. It certainly appears as if stocks have been too overbought for too long and may be entering a correction which is long overdue.

And gold and gold stocks are bouncing strongly, having become much too oversold. Nevertheless, the attempts to manipulate gold continue and danger remains in becoming too Bullish too soon.

According to reports this weekend, the US Federal Reserve managed to repatriate only 5 tonnes of Germany's gold last year. This from the hundreds of tonnes the Bundesbank is supposed to have stored in New York and at Fort Knox ... and which the Germans demanded last year be shifted out of those facilities and back to Germany.

So far, everyone is remarkably silent about exactly why it'll take 7 years to give Germany back what it owns. The Bundesbank makes a few polite noises about "logistical" problems. *Gag*Cough*Splutter*Guffaw*

I don't wish to be uncharitable or provocative, but history is history. And the Germans have a certain talent for being able to organise the mass movement of ... things. I am, of course, talking about Mercedes and BMWs and Miele machines. What did you think I was talking about?!

Anyway, I think we can all agree that if the Germans really wanted to shift several hundred tonnes of anything, they'd be able to do it with their usual precision and efficiency.

Just how long the world will swallow this story about the Bundesbank being unable to organise a few trucks, planes and a ship or two remains to be seen.

And that, perhaps, is the biggest danger. Because if it actually gets proved that the US Federal Reserve stole and sold the gold reserves in Fort Knox and New York, believing they could manipulate paper markets to buy it back cheaper, we are going to see a world financial crisis unlike anything ever seen before.

And speaking of track records ... the US Federal Reserve has no history of theft, bubble creation and causing massive worldwide financial meltdowns. Gag*Cough*Splutter*Guffaw*

But, but ... none of this concerns us. We are mere minnows in a pool of predators. So, we do need to be aware that the boys with the biggest bank account would appear to have a need to get their hands on a LOT of physical gold at the cheapest price they can get it. And that means there are likely to be more sudden billion-dollar raids on the gold price.

And it also means they didn't spend this amount of money - $85 billion a month - driving up the stock markets month-after-month to unload all their overpriced crud onto the gullible in one bad Friday on Wall Street. It's most unlikely they've dumped everything they need to dump yet.

On another topic, I receive fairly regular requests from readers to "link" on social media sites, which then want me to join and create a profile. It's not something I have the time for, or any inclination to do.

The New Moon In Aquarius, February 10, 2013

Astrological Investing New Moon forecasts show general trends and financial outlook for the month. The New Moon in Aquarius, February 10, 2013  - Chart from the point of view of Wall Street and the NYSE.
Chinese New Year
 Year of the Water Snake

The second New Moon after the Winter Solstice marks the beginning of the New Year in the Chinese calendar - it typically occurs in either late January or early February.
Chinese year names are repeated every 60 years; this cycle began February 2, 1984 - The Year of the Water Rat. Each New Year has a FULL name, consisting not of only animal names, but include element names.
Simplifying year names, people tend to say "Year of the Snake" (or whatever animal name), leaving off the element name. However, the element name is important and distinguishes the year as well. An uncomplicated explanation of the names and the Chinese 60 year cycle - and fairly decent history of Chinese Astrology - can be found on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_astrology

2013 is the Year of the Water Snake. 2013 New Year celebrations continue until the the moon is full.

Read the article, Just Another Winter's Solstice The Solstice chart gives us an astrological reason and understanding as to why Congress and the President finally passed legislation in the 12th hour to avoid the fiscal cliff. However, the problem of sequestration cuts and the debt continues...

Now, as the market deals with the result of January's Mercurial New Moon in Capricorn, we will in all probability see the market zigzag its way through February - until the energy of the Aries Equinox presents itself and the potential possibilities for the next season begin to unfold.
An Astrological Trip Around the New Moon in Aquarius Chart
New Moons are a time of hope and optimism - we have been through the darkness and have come to the light at the end of the tunnel. It is typically a time when the market is up regardless of the trend.

There is still an air of hope and optimism lingering from the energy initiated in the Solstice chart, which continues to influence the market through March. And Neptune in Pisces doesn't like facing harsh reality... but we can't continue to kick the can down the road. Surely? Can we?

The New Moon (Sun/ Moon) Neptune, Mars, and Mercury, are located in the Third house. Neptune, Mars, and Mercury are conjunct in Pisces - square Jupiter, the chart ruler. The New Moon always brings the matters of the house it resides in to the forefront. This stellium of planets in the third house suggests a very busy month filled with distractions and an emphasis on a LOT of talk.

With Mars conjunct Neptune and Mercury, what to do about gun control and safety in schools is the focus, while the elephant sits unattended in the room largely unnoticed.

Mars in Pisces conjunct Neptune square Jupiter - Neptunian energy works to dissolve boundaries. Mars' impulse is To Act - yet the impulse to act in the sign of Pisces is at the mercy of the emotional undercurrents of the moment.

Pisces is represented by two fishes swimming in opposite directions. Mars in Pisces Square Jupiter can bring the markets soaring up, or crashing down. And it is probable whatever direction the market takes on the Friday before the Sunday of the New Moon, will go the opposite direction the Monday day after, as Venus squares Saturn.

On the web site, read:  Uranus in the fourth house sextile Jupiter, Jupiter in the sixth house near cusp of 7th sextile Uranus, Saturn in the eleventh house sextile Pluto, Pluto in the first house, and Venus in the second house square Saturn.

The New Moon in Libra, October 7, 2010 at 2:44 pm EDT Washington, D.C.

The Libra New Moon appears in the 9th House (refer to chart)

This is a Super New Moon putting a great deal of pressure on those sectors of the markets that provide education, publish books, and provide long distance transportation for the travel industry.

Saturn appears in the 8th House
Discussions proliferate on insurance and taxes. There are plenty of proposals of ways to improve insurance and maintain reasonable premiums. Taxes are the main topic of conversation with a plethora of suggestions as to ways to make them lower.

Mercury appears in the 8th House
Government will join the discussions of ways to return the excessive cash on the balance sheets of USA based corporations. The death tax may be settled and discussions will continue on other taxes. Voters are listening to eighth house issues death, taxes, accounting, and insurance. All others are not important. This position of Mercury indicates a change in political leadership in the legislature. Electors will favor the non incumbent.

Venus appears in the 10th House
The chart of the Equinox continues here putting an emphasis on the feminine leaders in corporate USA. Female leaders will find the environment very favorable for increasing the profitability of their organizations.

Mars appears in the 10th House
Mars here indicates increased covert military activity. Male corporate leaders will be aggressive as they promote their industry. Mars is at home in Scorpio, therefore we will tend to chose investments that are aggressive and likely to earn a nice return.

Pluto appears in the 12th House
Scandals and crimes will bring down the leaders of prominent institutions as well as businesses. Police and other investigators will gain recognition for arresting criminals both white and blue color. Whistle blowers will explain the corruption they see to concerned citizens as well as reporters. Corruption in charities, hospitals and prisons will be exposed.

Neptune appears in the 1st House
The public is confused by a lot of the rhetoric. They feel like everyone in charge of government and industry has lied to them. They will vote with the ballot and the pocket book. They are unhappy and ready turn everything upside down.

Jupiter appears in the 2nd House
It has the power to increase the value of stock, bonds and commodities. Folks are earning extra cash in interesting places. The job market will improve as employers are finding they need to fill more orders than they anticipated.

Uranus appears in the 2nd House
Strange happenings are in the market place. Investors and traders will sense that there is a something dishonest happening but they are not able to identify exactly what it is. Entrepreneurs are finding very unique ways to capitalize on the internet by adding subscription services. Web site owners are impressed and sign on to the new ideas.

The New Moon in Sagittarius December 16

Read this New Moon report in it's entirety at www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/newsletter.html
New Moon forecasts show the general trends and financial outlook for the month.

The New Moon is in Sagittarius, however the Sun will ingress into Capricorn five days later. (Click here for Kaye Shinker's Winter Solstice report which examines the economic trends for the following three months.

Happy Solar Return Capricorn! And Best Wishes to all Sagittarian's still celebrating their Solar Returns. Read your financial horoscope in our monthly Fiscal Cents predictions.

New Moon in Sagittarius 2009The New Moon appears in the First House, here is what Kaye Shinker has to say for the month ahead:
(Non USA members please set the New Moon chart for the capital of your country and note the house position of the New Moon - The Textbook For Financial Astrology, Book 4, page 30, will help you interpret the new moon for your own country)

It is hard to imagine, but generally speaking, the USA feels self confident and happy, healthy and wise. Negative folks will be told to get an attitude adjustment. Folks are euphoric. They feel like they have come through a troubled 2009 and are looking forward with optimism to 2010. They plan to enjoy the holidays and the time off with family and friends and everyone has a few extra gifts neatly wrapped for an unexpected guest.

Folks are happy and very appreciative of nature's bounty. They are full of energy and ready to enjoy their favorite winter games. Wherever they go, there seems to be a party. Energy levels are high with good songs, good stories and plenty of jokes. Take lots of pictures.

Pluto in the First House
The best time to announce difficult economic news is during a holiday season. The public has been hoodwinked and is very suspicious of authoritarian type proclamations. Therefore, even fully documented announcements are seen as fear mongering.

Mercury in the First House
Quite a few folks have invented themselves out of economic problems by striking out on their own. Some of these activities are promising. The Initial Public Offerings market is a busy place as successful companies see the week before the holidays as an excellent opportunity to sell a portion of their enterprise.

Jupiter in the Second House
Financial institutions are quietly returning profits to their shareholders and employees. They are able to make secure loans as the nation finally understands that adding taxes does not increase revenues. The electronics industry has been able to export their wares with increased success allowing profits to return to the parent companies.

Neptune in the Second House
Fraud and dishonesty are lurking behind the scenes. The trend of paying cash for purchases will continue as people avoid adding new debt. Theft of secret formulas and patents becomes a problem. Hackers are found stealing trade secrets just for the glory of being caught. Loan-sharks will make headlines.

Uranus in the Third House
Wet weather, especially west of the Mississippi, is a problem. Communications will tend to snarl and delays will be felt everywhere. Vehicles of every sort will find unusual ways to break down adding to the general cost of personal transportation. Parts supply shops will be busy as a result.

Mars in the Eighth House
Here Mars is all about using energy to deal with death, taxes, accounting, and insurance; in other words, paper work. Every category is asking people for more energy than they believe should be required. Sitting down, filling out forms, and writing the same information over and over is a royal pain. Mercury is retrograde until the next New Moon so this is as good an excuse as any to file away all of the paper work that is driving you crazy.

Saturn in the Ninth House
International shipping will find pirates require some drastic new defense weaponry. International courts of justice are under attack. Treaties and agreements between foreign countries will blatantly treat each party unfairly. There is a point where fairness is required when currency is exchanged. These exchange rates will be a major topic of discussion.

Folks will find it hard to believe that we are supposed to be celebrating religious holidays that proclaim peace and freedom.

Venus in the Twelfth house
Charity that is tax deductible will flow, increasing the treasuries of institutions with a good reputation for distributing their donations. Institution's financial position will improve as a result. All have had a great deal of problems balancing their budgets, and donations are coming from some unexpected sources.

The New Moon in Scorpio November 16

Read this New Moon report in it's entirety at www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/newsletter.html
New Moon forecasts show the general trends and financial outlook for the month; here is what Kaye Shinker has to say for the month ahead:

(The New Moon is in Scorpio, however the Sun moves into Sagittarius five days later, November 21, 2009 at 11:22 pm. Best Wishes to all Scorpios still celebrating their Solar Returns. ) Read your financial horoscope in our monthly Fiscal Cents predictions.

New Moon in Scorpio 2009The New Moon appears in the eighth house -November 16th (Non USA members please set the New Moon chart for the capital of your country and note the house position of the New Moon - Textbook 4, page 30 will help you interpret the new moon for your own country)

The New Moon in the eighth means that the concentration of the public is on insurance and taxes. It is the reaction of government to add more taxes when they have a shortfall in their collections. The public sees the problem as if you don't have a job, you cannot earn any money to pay the taxes. This quiet boycott is cutting into the projected collection of tax revenues. The same is true with insurance. There is also a problem of leadership passing away. No one is available to explain how to get things done efficiently or to encourage managers to help the employees do their work.

Mercury in the eighth house
Folks are concerned with the laws that require unexpected taxes when dealing with gifts and inheritance. The world wide web is helpful but others will require detailed advise to solve the problems. Doctors, lawyers and accountants will find that their services are in demand.

Venus in the eighth house
Venus is very intense in Scorpio and insists that you consider thrifty purchases with your earned income. Problem is that a great deal of energy is required to earn the income needed to pay for purchases, and thrifty takes time and thought. Folks are silently rebelling against certain taxes by boycotting items that require excess taxes. Fewer sin taxes are collected when fewer items are sold.

Pluto in the tenth house
Executives and government leaders are in the midst of some awkward situations concerning the management of their assigned projects. Pluto is square Saturn, therefore suggesting that leaders are stuck on the issue of finding experts for advise. Professional advisers are busy helping their friends and neighbors and explain that they are not available to help corporate or government leadership. The public's perception of their work is that they have no concept of a budget. Leaders are striving for absolute power and finding folks not very cooperative.

Jupiter in the twelfth house
Jupiter is in the final degrees of Aquarius and in the twelfth house. Scandals concerning fraud, embezzlement and secret detention prisons will scandalize various governments and institutions. Officials will be exposed for their heavy expenses and ludicrous book keeping. The internet will help bring the performance of these officials to the attention of the public.

Neptune in the twelfth house
Fraud is in abundant supply. Information concerning the mismanagement of the receipts of supposedly respected charitable institutions overwhelms the public. Scandals concerning the administration of services meant to help the poor, handicapped and minorities proliferate. Donations to these charities diminish quickly.

Uranus in the tenth
Innovation is a key word with Uranus, and management will have the opportunity to reform their actions. People are extremely dissatisfied with the performance of their leaders, but are willing to listen to announcements and disclosures that promise improvements. Governments seek to console the populace by adding more controls that promise to reform the administration of public institutions.

The best example of the changes brought by Uranus in Pisces is the creation of a whole new business model for the sale and distribution of music. This holiday season will spell the end of music sales through traditional venues. Creative folks at every level have seen massive changes concerning the sale of their products. Content providers, whether writing fact or fiction, must adapt to the same drastic changes that are very obvious in the field of music.

Expect that Uranus will do the same to manufacturing next year when he starts his transit through Aries starting in June, 2010.

Mars in the fifth house
Mars in Leo will create some wonderful new games and toys. Mars here puts a great deal of stress on entertainment venues. Audiences are very tense and not easily pleased by the actors, musicians and sports teams they paid to amuse them.

Saturn in the seventh
There are opportunities here to solve some international problems using diplomacy and talking one on one. The conflict is between the need for fair treatment and the desire for power. Folks are dissatisfied with current conditions and look to their leaders for answers to their difficulties. Few leaders are available to help.
