Mercury Rx & Mars meets el Weirdo

Randall Ashbourne, an associate of Astrological Investing, posts a weekly market report on his web site, theidiotandthemoon.com The following is this weekend's Eye of RA report: Week beginning November 19, 2012

We have reached the halfway mark of the current Mercury Retrograde period ... and Mars changes signs from Sagittarius to Capricorn this weekend.

Either of these astro events is enough to change the direction of the existing trend.

The big question is for how long, since by the end of the week Mars will be squaring Uranus and conjuncting Pluto.

I have discussed with you in the past the so-called Mars/Uranus crash cycle and its total, complete and utter NON-reliability to actually bring on a crash. Just because certain members of the astrological community like to make dire predictions about Mars/Uranus hard aspects, doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.

We will take a graphical look at the aspects again in a moment or two, as well as what is "normal" halfway though a Merc Rx period. And we will consider a particular technical condition which indicates the bottom of the current correction is not yet complete.

But, let me first deal with the astro symbolism. Mars is energy and drive. He's the all-action guy, not overly blessed in the brain department. Uranus is a weirdo nutbag who delights in giving everyone the irrits by doing the complete opposite of what one would expect conditions dictate.

When Action Guy meets up with Psycho Nutbag in conjunction, opposition or square, "stuff" happens ... just not necessarily the stuff you were counting on.

So let's remind ourselves of the actual historical performance, as opposed to the crash predictions.

In the weekly chart of Miss Pollyanna above, the Mars/Uranus conjunctions are marked in blue, the oppositions in red, and the squares are the green bars. Of the 7 oppositions shown, only 3 show up at peaks, bringing on a crash. The first shows up at the August 2000 peak and the second instance was a countertrend top just before the index made a Bear bottom in 2002. The 3rd instance was in August 2008, just before markets went into the worst of the post-2007 crash.

The blue conjunctions don't seem to signify much at all and nor do the squares, which are sometimes sort-of near tops, sometimes sort-of near bottoms, and sometimes sort-of midway through a trend which just continues in the direction it was going beforehand.

Ergo, the "Mars/Uranus crash cycle" is a cycle the way a rectangle is a wheel. It doesn't bloody work! The Mars/Uranus oppositions would seem to be more dangerous than the conjunctions and squares ... and even they seem to work only half the time.

I'm not dismissing the potential out-of-hand, merely indicating that the actual track record suggests it's not an aspect which reliably brings about a crash.

Now, let's turn our attention to the Mercury Retrograde phase. In the first report for November, I said: "What normally happens with stock markets when Merc goes Rx is that it starts a trend which goes into reverse halfway through the period. That would mean a potential trend change date on the 16th - the day Mars changes signs from Sagittarius to Capricorn and starts making its own aspects to the ongoing Uranus/Pluto square."

It's true I thought the bounceback might have started earlier last week, but the "fiscal cliff" reiterations kept markets in a freefall until Friday.

click for larger image
So, Friday went to a new Low ... and bounced; indicating that, perhaps, we are going to get the "normal" behaviour ... which is that a trend which starts when Mercury goes Retrograde, reverses course halfway through the cycle. In fact, it's fairly normal for markets to finish the Merc Rx period with prices within 1% of the level they were when the phase started.
The chart above marks the last Merc Rx period between the two black verticals and the current one is now halfway through. IF we do get a Thanksgiving week bounceback, and optimism is the mood "norm" for America in this week, it wouldn't be unusual for the index to reconnect with a Mercury planetary price line.

The prices are: 1428 if the rebound recovers within 1% of the start of the period; 1398 and 1391 as "safer" targets ... and 1308 if the plunge continues.

Now, I have a caveat about the potential length of any bounceback ... and it's not really related to the Mars/Uranus/Pluto aspects coming up as we end the coming week.
click for larger image

It's related to a technical condition, not an astrological expectation. Simply, there is no positive divergence in the state of the long-range Canary on Miss Pollyanna's daily chart. First, just an eyeball ... this is a significant correction in terms of time and price.

And because it is, we would normally expect to see an instance of divergence between price and the oscillator ... as we did during previous corrections of this significance. Divergence is explained in The Technical Section of the book and is worth re-reading if you're still trying to come to grips with it.

We can see it quite clearly in the chart above. The lack of positive divergence in the current set-up is a warning that any bounceback has a high chance of failing and that Miss Polly, the SP500, needs to make a lower price low below 1343, while the Canary makes a higher trough.

Also in the November 5 edition, available in the Archives, I published a broad range of index charts in an attempt to show the likely range for the whole month ... and here's how Polly has played with Chicken Little back on stage.
click for larger image

In brief, it's entirely possible we have seen the range for November and the final half of the month will play within that territory.

But, we need to be fully aware that the danger to continuation of the Bull recovery run is significant; the fast MACD signals on Weekly Planets charts for most indices are still in decline - and could drop much further yet.

The Nasdaq 100, NDX, chart is below, followed by similar charts for the FTSE, the DAX and the ASX 200.

click for larger image

You'll note the MACD decline on most of those charts is in its early stages, so I'm basing my expectation of a bounce largely on what is "normal" behaviour during a Merc Rx period ... and on the usual pattern of a Mars sign change at least temporarily changing the trend in play.

And, also, because while there's no positive divergence between price and oscillator on Miss Polly's dailies, it actually is there on my NDX charts and the Nasdaq often acts as a leading index - that is, it changes direction before the DJI or the 500.

And if Wall Street goes that way, we can assume most of the other major indices will do the same. >

The Autumnal Equinox, September 22, 2012

Chart for Washington, D.C. USA

Chart Analysis with discussion of Astrological Events

Listed in the Astrological Events of the Season is the September 19, 2012 Uranus square Pluto aspect at 7° Aries/Capricorn. Click here for list.

Though exact before the Equinox, this aspect remains an important influence throughout 2012, up through 2015. It is significant because of the implication of its meaning globally as well as at home.

The Autumnal Equinox, Wednesday, September 22 at 10:48:58 am EDT, Washington D.C.
“What all the wise men promised has not happened,
and what all the damned fools said would happen has come to pass.” – Lord Melbourne

Charles E. O. Carter, the great Twentieth Century British Astrologer, states in the book, Mundane Astrology, The Astrology of Nations and States, "Uranus represents the administration of power, the administrative officers of the State and all their functions." Additionally Carter goes on to say, "Uranus rules power on the physical plane - dynamos and all power generators." With such electric energy, Uranus is as unpredictable as lightning. When afflicted by difficult aspects Uranus is rebellious and anarchic.

Pluto desires to control power, using power to control. With an affinity to the Underworld, it reveals what is hidden and dark, bringing elements into the light making what was powerful now vulnerable, thus easier to tame, reform, transform or destroy. Pluto, like Mars, is a planet of war, but much, much more ruthless. With it's scorched earth policy Pluto brings about transformation, but only after destruction of what lies in it's path.

Randall Ashbourne writes, "Uranus represents an energy which demands change, reform and radical restructuring of everything it considers "wrong". In Aries, the demands are aggressive and, if thwarted, will turn to direct action ... from taking over the streets to taking up arms. Pluto represents great power and great wealth concentrated very narrowly. In Capricorn, it is very much all about control by the plutocrats... " - Eye of Ra report, week beginning June 18, 2012

So, what we have in this season ahead is a time greatly influenced by tense, dynamic energy pitting the nature of these two planets and the signs they are in against each other to force an outcome. It is quite understandable then, that the world has been confronted with economic and political crises.

Bold, impatient, impulsive and rebellious Uranus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn has brought about the reigniting of anti-Japan protesters across China; has exposed the euro as a divisive force instead of what was to be a uniting force for European countries; and has driven deeply divided political parties in the USA to face off in a nasty, bitter battle for the White House while America faces a fiscal cliff ahead regardless who wins. It has brought about the Arab Spring uprisings, and now extremely anti-American sentiment and tension in the Middle-East. We now are experiencing what some journalists have named "the Arab Winter".

"U.S. embassies and consulates have been breached this week in Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Tunisia — the same four countries to rid themselves of decades-long dictatorships in what became known as the Arab Spring of revolutions last year. In Libya, the only place the U.S. used its military to ensure regime change, the violence was the worst, claiming the life of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other embassy staffers." The Washington Post, September 14

The Equinox chart is rife with difficulty. Sun in opposition to Uranus square Pluto with Mars on the Ascendant in Scorpio. Markets will go on a wild ride, gold and silver prices will rise and fall and people are in an aggressive mood...

The Equinox Sun for Washington, D.C. appears in the Eleventh house with Mercury
The Sun in good aspect here should be beneficial for Washington D.C., however five days later, on September 29 the Sun forms an exact T-Square with the Uranus-Pluto aspect. National and International news is filled with stores of anti-American protests and of a presidential campaign that only gets nastier.

Mercury goes retrograde on election day and that isn't good news for the candidates. The last time Mercury stationed retrograde on election day was in 2000! And we all know how that went...

Mars (co-chart ruler with Pluto) in the first house square Venus in the ninth - An aggressive spirit has risen in the people regarding domestic matters and matters abroad. With riots, strikes, fires, assaults, and rumors of war, military affairs attract attention and battleships are launched. Financial questions affecting foreign relations cause debate and concern.

Moon in the Second House sextile Saturn in the twelfth - Economic worries are soothed by the Fed's release of more money into the market to influence financial affairs generally. This adds to the ever increasing political power of the Fed.

The national debt and the economy is an important campaign issue, but what women "value" and what their needs are an important part of the debate in the presidential election.

Saturn enters Scorpio on October 5 - Real and responsible reform regarding financial policy must be dealt with as Saturn transits Scorpio over the next three years. Debt, regulations in banking, and taxation are areas that both political parties must confront.

Pluto in the Second house square Uranus in the fifth house - suggests a possible increase in military spending and a discontent over national extravagance. Possible loss in equities in the stock exchange causes precious metals to soar. Disputes over financial questions and taxation cause concern.

Neptune in the fourth house - This is good for crops if the weather remains temperate and damp, but there is a possibility of cold, damp weather. Not only is there a good deal of fluctuation in temperature, but in the political climate as well!

Jupiter in the eighth house sextile Venus in the ninth house -Opportunities for financial relations with foreign countries improve. This is fortunate for trade and the shipping industry.

Solstice, June 20, 2012, Chart Analysis with discussion of Astrological Events

June 20, 2012, Summer Solstice, Washington D.C.
Summer Solstice, June 20, 2012
Chart for Washington, D.C. USA
The first day of summer in the Northern hemisphere
*June 20, 2012 is the Winter Solstice in the Southern hemisphere
by Marlene Pfeifle, CAP
Uranus square Pluto is the astrological theme for this chart and for the summer. The season begins with, and ends with, a repeat of the Uranus square Pluto aspect in September. (see exact dates in list above) This aspect is MOST significant not only because it is the closest planetary aspect by degree, but because of the implication of its meaning.

What it suggests in the Washington D.C. chart is a summer filled with demonstrations and demands from the people. It's an election year, and people want change and reform in government. (The first house represents the people. Pluto is the demand for transformation and reform - the fourth house Uranus, is the restless urge for reform in their government.)

Actually, they want change and reform NOW - and their demands will persist.
A square aspect is tense, dynamic energy pitting the nature of the planets and the signs they are in against each other to force an outcome. Uranus in Aries is bold, impatient, impulsive and rebellious in the quest for individual freedom; Pluto in Capricorn, like a dark version of the comic book superhero, Superman, will only accept "Truth, Justice, and the American Way". Pluto will expose corruption and eliminate whatever is necessary for a positive end result. However, Pluto in Capricorn DOESN'T want to "throw the baby out with the bath water" and likes to move slowly and deliberately with control, destroying what stands in its path, but resisting impulsive, impatient rebel rousing and "change just for change sake".
Randall Ashbourne describes Uranus - Pluto energy in his Eye of Ra Report, "... "I mentioned last weekend the symbolism of the Uranus-Pluto square as being an Aries/Capricorn confrontation of aggressive rebellions against "the powers that be" ... and I discussed in (my) Forecast 2012 how this had started with the so-called Arab Spring uprisings, which would continue to spread as they have in Syria and Bahrain, but how the same sort of energy would also manifest in other parts of the world.

And it's fairly obvious almost everywhere. There are all sorts of power struggles going on in China. Dissidents are getting bolder. Greece is an obvious Western example, but so is the growing angst in Germany. In terribly polite Britain, Prime Ministers former and current, have been called into the public forum to explain their relationship with the Murdoch empire and whether policy was traded for publicity.

Uranus represents an energy which demands change, reform and radical restructuring of everything it considers "wrong". In Aries, the demands are aggressive and, if thwarted, will turn to direct action ... from taking over the streets to taking up arms.

Pluto represents great power and great wealth concentrated very narrowly. In Capricorn, it is very much all about control by the plutocrats. There are nuances between nations in exactly how it manifests. In some of the Arab nations, it's pretty easy to pick the dictators." - Eye of Ra report, week beginning June 18, 2012"
- Eye of Ra report, week beginning June 18, 2012
It will be an intense summer in which the political climate will match the heat of the summer!

In the USA, political parties will officially nominate their presidential candidates at conventions - the Republican National Convention, during week of August 27; the Democratic National convention, during the week of September 3, 2012. With Pluto and Uranus in cardinal signs, we can expect ruthless, negative campaigns and rowdy demonstrations.

June 24 - Uranus square Pluto at 8° Capricorn (exact) - This is the first of a series of waxing squares between Uranus and Pluto during 2012 - March 2015.
According to Raymond Merriman in his book, Forecast 2012, "..this is the most challenging time for world leaders to resolve their economic and political crises. In such a venerable climate, Gold is apt to remain a safe haven. Investors and speculators will seek protection by diversifying their portfolios with precious metals. A time that stands out in 2012 is the last tens days of June."

Uranus in the fourth house suggests the possibility of unusual, disruptive, destructive weather.  One never really can predict Uranus energy as it represents what is unexpected.  Earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, and loss of electricity due to the unusual weather are possible. Have a first aid kit handy, along with plenty of batteries, and extra food and water supplies in case of emergency. Keep your fuel tank filled in case you need to evacuate quickly.

Uranus turns retrograde July 13 When Uranus turns retrograde, Kaye Shinker taught that for the markets "about 4 days before the exact retrograde Uranus reverses the market trend.  Following the Rx motion 80% of the time the markets creep up."(The Textbook for Financial Astrology)

Silver as a Commodity

The Moon Rules Silver
The light of the silvery Moon is always changing and therefore the price of silver is constantly changing. It is a moody metal, unpredictable and its valuations are capricious. However if you follow the price of silver over the past 70+ years you will note that it trends higher until the Sun is in Cancer and trends lower until the Sun is in Virgo. Eclipses of the Sun or Moon do not have a dramatic effect on the price of silver. If silver has a big price swing you must check transiting Pluto because someone is trying to manipulate the market.

I thought I would give you all a short lesson in how an astrologer looks at a chart for a commodity. First you check for the question is it a seasonal commodity. Price history is very important, but the web sites use the business calendar. You have to adjust your eyes and make use of the Astrological calendar. The Sun changes its astrological sign about 10 days before the end of each month. Therefore you look at the price about a week before the calendar month ends.

The Sun will move into Cancer on June 20th, the Summer Solstice. Therefore we might expect that the trend for Silver will be down during the next few months. OK then how about Pluto? Pluto September 2010 station at 2 degrees Capricorn is trine the Mars/Neptune in Virgo. It seems unlikely the price will be manipulated.

Transiting Mars is past the Virgo planets so the little boost of energy he gave to price is over. The chart seems to say Silver is a possible choice for investments, but suggest you save your cash for a month or two until it finds its lowest price. Of course if you have an investment in Silver you might take some profits and then add to your holdings later.

The chart above is useful as an early warning to predict the rise and fall of the price for silver. Transiting Saturn will trine its Venus. It looks like a good play long, but silver is capricious and stops are essential. Note these aspects have been in play since 2008.

I tested this chart for silver with past highs and lows. The best story happened in 1980. I chose the event when the Hunt Brothers attempted to corner the silver market. March 1980 silver sold for almost $50 per troy ounce. However March 24, 1980 there was a rules change concerning margin requirements for commodities traders. The chart for Silver indicates the rules change with Pluto squared by transiting Pluto. The Hunt brothers had cornered one third of the silver market, but the change in margin rules would bankrupt them. It's a good story.

In financial astrology it is a good idea not to mess with Pluto. Transiting Pluto loves to destroy wealth and will chose a conjunction, square, or an opposition to accomplish the task. Summer 2010 Pluto and Saturn are square. A square to Saturn and Pluto is always looking for targets, but it appears it might forget silver. Pluto seems to be out of the picture in the chart for silver.

Silver and Platinum are usually found in the same place as Gold. Miners prefer the profit margin in gold and hedge their expenses with silver as it is in greater supply. The electronics industry fills most of the demand and usually the gold miners can keep them well supplied.

Why I'm wrote this blog
During the past week every single E newsletter is recommending Silver and Gold. Probably every cab driver in New York is recommending both. So many suggestions would tell me its time to sell and buy vacant land, and dividend paying stocks, or better yet investing in yourself. It is always a good idea to have about 10% of your portfolio in commodities. Silver is a useful metal and worthy of inclusion. If you are patient you could find a bargain in Silver.
There are a lot of phony numbers out there.

Coming soon to a sky near you, The Lunar Eclipse which should be give you a bit of optimism.

Fiscal Cents - Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign - Aquarius

Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign For the Lunar Month Beginning January 15, 2010 - Your Astrological Horoscope and Financial Outlook
by Kaye Shinker

CapricornHappy Solar Return Aquarius! The New Moon is in Capricorn, however the Sun enters Aquarius four days later on January 19th. Best Wishes to all Capricorns still celebrating their Solar Returns. Both Sun signs are best advised to review and revise their portfolios and research thoroughly every stock on their "to buy" list.

If you are Capricorn, you have been trying your best to keep your life in order and it just refuses to obey. If you are a Aquarius Sun life has been reading directions and plugging in your devises and finding surge protectors and batteries. It is important for you to take care of all of your computers and make sure to properly file your warranty papers.

Advice for everyone - not just for Aquarius! During the past few years I have encouraged every Sun Sign to save some money, limit their trading with excellent stops and to develop hobbies. 2010 is the year to watch for IPO's. Read the descriptions and start looking for great new inventions.

If you have a planet near 25 degrees Capricorn read my article, Economic Implications of the Solar Eclipse in Your Personal Horoscope

New Moon in Capricorn Solar Eclipse 2010
The New Moon in Capricorn is also a Solar Eclipse. It will occur on January 15, 2010 at 2:11 am at Washington D.C.

The area where the eclipse is visible starts in Africa, over the Indian Ocean and ends in China. The entire area has been shaking since the July 22, 2009 eclipse and several volcanoes are rumbling. (Follow the path of the eclipse: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OHfigures/OH2010-Fig01.pdf )

The eclipse is conjunct the natal Pluto of the USA 4th of July chart. Pluto is in the second house of the USA Sibley chart. The entire country must rise from the ashes like the mythical Phoenix in order to clean up one huge financial mess. It is probable that the dollar and the banking system will insist on being rebuilt. Extraordinary creativity will be required.

My optimistic suggestion: Capricorn likes to change the rules of the game. Pluto likes to destroy things. The current set of proposed rules are impossible to enforce. For the past six months governments and business have been making various attempts at changing the rules.

If you have a planet near 25 degrees Capricorn read my article, Economic Implications of the Solar Eclipse in Your Personal Horoscope

The New Moon appears in the third house for the east coast and in the fourth house for the west coast of the US. The weather forecast is difficult for the entire hemisphere. Expect the continental plates to slip and slide during the next few weeks.

Transportation and communications will be the focus of attention with the New Moon in the third House. The Federal Communications Commission should be extremely busy discussing difficult problems such as band width and emergency communications channels. Electronic communications providers will spend most of the month looking for opportunities to find new ways to monetize their services.

Venus in the Third House

Corporations and governments will debate the subscription vs advertising services to the public with polls and questionnaires. The focus will be the amount of discretionary income the public considers reasonable to pay for these services. Also a new type of Internet pay per page view debit card could find trial runs among select consumers.

Vehicles and communications equipment will be in demand. Upgrades will become the focus of public attention. Employment in these areas will improve, especially in the older technologies where workers are giving notice of plans to retire. Entrepreneurs in the service sector of communications will add employees as demand increases. The New Moon gives Venus extra power and earned income in the transportation industry will increase. Truck drivers will earn their raise.

Neptune in the Fourth

Expect water damage on the East Coast.

Taxpayers will not be very happy if they are expected to bailout another insurance company.

Local governments will discover that their real estate tax assessments are flawed due to changing evaluations of a home's resale price and the occupancy of commercial real estate. Local and state legislators will be required to attend endless budget meetings.

Jupiter in the Fourth

Jupiter in the fourth can precipitate an earthquake and in this case along the East Coast of the USA and that includes the Caribbean. (Marley's note- This prediction was written 2 weeks earlier than when the earthquake occurred in Haiti - very impressive astrological work Kaye!)

The number of real estate transactions east of the Mississippi are likely to increase. People will happily work on home improvement projects keeping the hardware stores busy. Underemployed handy men/women should make their skills known.

Uranus in the Fourth

Uranus here brings surprises to the real-estate markets. Owners of commercial real estate will need to study new ways to sell their space. Innovations in electronics has reduced demand for some types of spaces requiring property owners to renovate their buildings. For example: As broadband expands its reach offices will require fewer and fewer square feet to operate. New businesses require a nice conference room and a bank of computers to operate efficiently.

Mars in the Ninth

Problem here is Mars retrograde at the top of the chart. Confusion prevails as International tensions create volatility concerning tariffs and monetary exchange rates. It is time to be wary of investments made outside of your region.

It is a good idea to avoid currency investments. Mars retrograde in Leo means gold and mining stocks will be volatile until March 10.

Saber rattling perpetrators attempt actions but they are thwarted when they try to follow through. The current challenge especially for the media will be to identify who started the fight. While Mars is retrograde the person who starts the battle loses.

Saturn in the Eleventh

Saturn is applying to a square with Pluto. Whoever tries to raise taxes on bonuses or dividends will lose their position of power. The corporate sport will be to hide as much profit as possible through acquisitions or spin offs. Executives will study ways to grow their businesses without diluting their capital. Small business will study their account books to find new ways to improve their capital and increase their cash reserves.

Pluto in the Second

Pluto is square Saturn and will be exact on January 31. During the month scandals concerning theft will surface at every level of the economy. Losses will continue in the financial services industry as hidden toxic assets surface. The IRS will expose tax fraud in an effort to increase compliance. Before investing in an ETF be sure you know the tax consequences concerning their earnings estimates. (FYI, ETFs that hold currencies, futures contracts or hard assets such as precious metals receive different treatment under the U.S. tax code.) Be wary of claims of government guarantees.

Mercury in the Second

Earned income for the USA will come from hidden sources. Media old and new will add to the earnings prospects for everyone. Be sure you invest in your own education and learn to use your electronic gadgets efficiently. Uranus will be in Aries May 28th suggesting dramatic changes in communications. Now is the time to be alert and watch the descriptions of IPO's coming into the market. You are looking for new products that are outrageous.

Silver

Date when silver was first traded as a commodity on the National Metals Exchange.

Why Silver?
Did you ever take a teaspoon out of your Sterling Silver box and weigh it on you kitchen scales? It's a little over an ounce, right?  Silver sells for about $18.50 per troy ounce on the Comex. Let's see that is 8 place settings x4 utensils x $18.50.  And you thought it was an ugly pattern. Actually many of the pieces weigh more than an ounce, but in the words of your grandmother it was useful and an investment.

You can find silver all over your house and even in your car.  Right this minute you will find silver under the keys of your computer keyboard.  Silver is a dependable safety switch for all things electric including your light switches, and your circuit breakers.  Think of all the household electrical products manufactured in China. Does that explain their demand?

In addition to silverware and jewelry, silver has a wide range of uses. Silver nitrate is used for photographic film and as a natural antibiotic in medicine.  Although photography and medicine no longer demand huge supplies of silver, electrical devises have increased the demand four fold. Silver mining companies are often six months behind filling their contracts.

The Moon rules Silver
The light of the silvery Moon is always changing and therefore the price of silver is constantly changing. It is a moody metal, unpredictable and its valuations are capricious.  However if you follow the price of silver over the past 70+ years you will note that it trends higher until the Sun is in Cancer and trends lower until the Sun is in Capricorn.

The chart above is useful as an early warning to predict the rise and fall of the price for silver. Transiting Pluto will trine its Mars Neptune conjunction and transiting Saturn will trine its Venus.

The chart for Silver indicates the the rules change with Pluto squared by transiting Pluto.

At the moment Pluto is making a square to Saturn and looking for targets.  Double check the astrological charts for the stocks and commodities in your portfolio.

Charts for stocks and commodities may be found in the Textbooks for Financial Astrology. Book 4 contains a number of commodities charts including this one.

Fiscal Cents - Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign - Capricorn

Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign For the Lunar Month Beginning December 16, 2009 - Your Astrological Horoscope and Financial Outlook
by Kaye Shinker

CapricornHappy Solar Return to Capricorn Suns. If you are a Capricorn Sun, life is really a challenge to keep in proper order.

And Happy Solar Return to late Sagittarius Suns. If you are Sagittarius, you have been having a lot of fun!

Advice for everyone - not just for Capricorn! During the past few years I have encouraged every Sun Sign to save some money, limit their trading with excellent stops and to develop hobbies. Since it is the holiday season you might take some of your spare cash and spend it on items that will help you earn money on your own. For example: My son the farmer bought a new plow, and I bought a new printer. Mercury is retrograde from December 26, 2009 through January 15 2010; therefore, to avoid mistakes and returns of merchandise, make your purchases before December 26.

A lunar eclipse with a super full moon foretells earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, or blizzards in your neighborhood. It is a good idea to be ready with your favorite emergency supplies and your box for your computer and important papers.

This Month For Capricorn

You could probably use a new hair style and some new clothes; you might like to join a health club too. Be sure you have a good supply of vitamins. It is time to make sure you are the best you can be and able to make an excellent first impression.

Happy Solar Return Capricorn! And Best Wishes to all Sagittarian's still celebrating their Solar Returns. Read your financial horoscope in our monthly Fiscal Cents predictions.

New Moon in Sagittarius 2009The New Moon appears in the First House, here is what Kaye Shinker has to say for the month ahead:
(Non USA members please set the New Moon chart for the capital of your country and note the house position of the New Moon - The Textbook For Financial Astrology, Book 4, page 30, will help you interpret the new moon for your own country)

It is hard to imagine, but generally speaking, the USA feels self confident and happy, healthy and wise. Negative folks will be told to get an attitude adjustment. Folks are euphoric. They feel like they have come through a troubled 2009 and are looking forward with optimism to 2010. They plan to enjoy the holidays and the time off with family and friends and everyone has a few extra gifts neatly wrapped for an unexpected guest.

Folks are happy and very appreciative of nature's bounty. They are full of energy and ready to enjoy their favorite winter games. Wherever they go, there seems to be a party. Energy levels are high with good songs, good stories and plenty of jokes. Take lots of pictures.

Pluto in the First House
The best time to announce difficult economic news is during a holiday season. The public has been hoodwinked and is very suspicious of authoritarian type proclamations. Therefore, even fully documented announcements are seen as fear mongering.

Mercury in the First House
Quite a few folks have invented themselves out of economic problems by striking out on their own. Some of these activities are promising. The Initial Public Offerings market is a busy place as successful companies see the week before the holidays as an excellent opportunity to sell a portion of their enterprise.

Jupiter in the Second House
Financial institutions are quietly returning profits to their shareholders and employees. They are able to make secure loans as the nation finally understands that adding taxes does not increase revenues. The electronics industry has been able to export their wares with increased success allowing profits to return to the parent companies.

Neptune in the Second House
Fraud and dishonesty are lurking behind the scenes. The trend of paying cash for purchases will continue as people avoid adding new debt. Theft of secret formulas and patents becomes a problem. Hackers are found stealing trade secrets just for the glory of being caught. Loan-sharks will make headlines.

Uranus in the Third House
Wet weather, especially west of the Mississippi, is a problem. Communications will tend to snarl and delays will be felt everywhere. Vehicles of every sort will find unusual ways to break down adding to the general cost of personal transportation. Parts supply shops will be busy as a result.

Mars in the Eighth House
Here Mars is all about using energy to deal with death, taxes, accounting, and insurance; in other words, paper work. Every category is asking people for more energy than they believe should be required. Sitting down, filling out forms, and writing the same information over and over is a royal pain. Mercury is retrograde until the next New Moon so this is as good an excuse as any to file away all of the paper work that is driving you crazy.

Saturn in the Ninth House
International shipping will find pirates require some drastic new defense weaponry. International courts of justice are under attack. Treaties and agreements between foreign countries will blatantly treat each party unfairly. There is a point where fairness is required when currency is exchanged. These exchange rates will be a major topic of discussion.

Folks will find it hard to believe that we are supposed to be celebrating religious holidays that proclaim peace and freedom.

Venus in the Twelfth house
Charity that is tax deductible will flow, increasing the treasuries of institutions with a good reputation for distributing their donations. Institution's financial position will improve as a result. All have had a great deal of problems balancing their budgets, and donations are coming from some unexpected sources.

Pluto Whacks Business

Pluto Whacks Business,
A lecture on Pluto in Capricorn
by Kaye Shinker
Pluto is said to rule the Mafia or gangsters. The mafia tends to take out members of rival groups as well as their own by whacking them.

Simply, that member no longer has a voice.

Pluto has a tendency to whack those thing ruled by the sign it is transiting. Then Pluto replaces what it has whacked with something similar yet entirely different.

Pluto doesn't just end things. To quote John Marcella, "He exorcises, detoxes, purges, obliterates and makes extinct the antiquated. And yes, He allows new forms to develop, evolve, emerge and unfold."

The roof caves in according the the things ruled by the sign when Pluto makes his entrance.

Listed on our web site at http://astrologicalinvesting.com/html/articles_pages/articles-plutowhacksbusiness.html are the years Pluto transited each sign during the Twentieth Century.

Pluto has started his transit of Capricorn by whacking the banking establishment. Banks over-extended their capital reserves with exotic paper using credit to expand their power and influence to a world wide market.
Federal Reserve

As with all things Plutonian, they overdid it and were forced to pull back or become extinct. The next few years will find their replacement as a new business model captures rapidly expanding technology.

Notice that natal Pluto is at zero Cancer and the Sun is at one Capricorn in this chart of the Federal Reserve. chart data: Dec. 23,1913, 6:20 pm EST, Washington, DC.

This is not the death of Capitalism, but a reorganization of the concept. The economic system may have a new name by the time Pluto enters Pisces.

I am speaking to this topic Thursday, July 16 at the Ohio Valley NCGR meeting near Cincinnati, Ohio. (Madeira Municipal Building, corner of Euclid and Miami Roads in Madeira - a suburb of Cincinnati) Meetings are free for members of any home chapter, and $5 for non members.

I continue in my speech to explain some of the options Pluto will manifest as he transits Capricorn whacking Big Business, governments, and institutions. Could he replace Big Business with Micro businesses? Or could he allow the Black Market to take responsibility for the exchange of goods?

If you can't join me in Cincinnati, a copy of my lecture is available on our web site, at www.astrologicalinvesting.com
