The New Moon in Taurus

Read this New Moon report in it's entirety at www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/newsletter.html
New Moon forecasts show the general trends and financial outlook for the month; here is what Kaye Shinker has to say for the month ahead:

The New Moon in Taurus, Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 9:04 am EDT Washington, D.C.
The New Moon in the 6th house (refer to chart)

Employment opportunities are available, but you have to be alert because some of the opportunities are not under a job title you would expect. Vehicles will contract mystifying mechanical problems. Repair shops and spare parts stores will earn extra income.

Venus in the 7th house

Great for partnerships where shared communications is important. Earned income will increase for partnerships selling creative solutions to difficult problems. It is a good time to meet and discuss partnership agreements and to watch for opportunities to invest in real estate.

Mars in the 9th house

Advertising is rather aggressive/hard sell. The customers for advertising agencies really need to sell products, and in particular, travel related items. Higher education companies are sending representatives wherever they believe eligible candidates might gather. Import and export tax issues become news headlines.

Saturn in the 10th house

The overall look at the New Moon chart suggests CEOs are going to have a challenge managing their companies. Leaders of corporations are retiring or resigning. They are tired. Folks shopping for bargain stocks will find this a good time to buy stocks in companies where there has been a turn over in top management. Governments will find many of their top officials handing in their retirement applications.

Pluto in the 1st house

The public insists on taking control of its power. They are communicating their ideas through the various networking tools available on the internet. People no longer have to arrange elaborate gatherings to share ideas, and they are beginning to notice.

Neptune in the 3rd house

News concerning fraud and scandal concerning various labor unions will make headlines. Even though Mercury turned direct May 11 (two days before the New Moon) it still isn't a good time to buy a new vehicle. Lifestyles are changing rapidly and it is important to determine exactly the type of vehicle required. Expect products to find ingenious, creative, new methods of packaging. Some will be good investments.

Jupiter in the 4th house

Seismic activity continues and weather patterns will drain insurance companies reserve funds. House prices have reached their low. The final group to sell at the bottom of this market cycle are homes with a lot of land or square footage.

Uranus in the 4th house

Many factors, including Icelandic volcanoes, will push the jet stream off of its normal pattern. Even daily weather forecasts will be unreliable. This promises to be a very strange hurricane season with storms moving along unexpected pathways.

The real estate market is full of very unusual bargains especially if the house/land is near water. Expect local governments to have difficulty assessing real estate taxes.

Mercury in the 5th house

Folks are taking risks, especially in the commodities markets. Metals and grains are rumored to be in short supply. Be careful.

It is a good idea to participate in out door events. Sporting events, picnics, weddings, concerts are well attended and everyone enjoys getting together and having fun. If you are planning an event be sure to schedule some games, contests and drawings.

Mercury Direct

At 6:27 p.m. EDT May 11, 2010 Mercury turned direct at 2 degrees Taurus.
Time to celebrate!! Whew!!

May 10 and 11 were filled with economic news. The Euro zone bailed out Greece, a move that probably will keep the Euro's value in the $1.25-1.30 range until all of the EU members decide to live within their means. Scroll down for a chart of the Euro and my discussion. Remember that the solution to the Euro mess had Mercury rx. Expect that the current solution will be continuously revised.

The elections in England brought a Prime Minister, Cameron, who is known for his ability with finance. He was sworn into office just as Mercury was stationed ready to go direct. He could be a very powerful leader who forces the government to stop the overdraw on the treasury. Could this help the value of the Pound?

Hard to believe but the Shrimpers in the Gulf of Mexico were given the all clear to return to their boats. The spill happened April 20, 2010 with Mercury rx. Nothing worked properly on the oil rig and remedies were not useful. Hopefully the weather will continue to cooperate and keep the mess off shore and everyones favorite Gulf Shrimp will be available at your favorite buffet.

80% of the time the Dow Jones averages end the Mercury Rx period with 2% of where they started. April 19 the average was 11,092 and the first day after Mercury Direct May 12th it closed at 10, 906. The flash crash on May 6th was not a sell signal. It was the usual Mercury rx confusion signal. A similar event happened Oct. 19, 1987 with Mercury rx.

A few of my students sent E-mails on May 6 to double check their Textbook for Financial Astrology lessons. Poor kids had to reread my old timer stories about 1987.

Oil Spill: Louisiana

The best view of the oil spill can be seen on the Spaceweather.com May 3,2010 entry.

It appears that the oil spill is staying in the deeper water and away from the shoreline at this moment. Louisiana's state bird is the Brown Pelican and they are currently nesting along the shoreline. It has only been a few years since their numbers have recovered enough to take them off the endangered list. Hopefully the spill stays away from their nests.

Louisiana Statehood and the Oil Spill

Both charts have Chiron at zero Pisces. Pisces rules oil and chemicals and Chiron is the maverick and the wounded healer. If you check the legend of Chiron, you will remember that Chiron was wounded by a poison arrow. Previous Chiron return was 1960 when the Supreme Court granted mineral rights to the Gulf States for off shore well up to 3 miles from shore.
The spills Venus is conjunct the Mercury of Louisiana and this means that it will bring cash and publicity to the State. The spills Mercury is applying to a conjunction of the State's Sun focusing publicity on the State and her leadership. ( these are annual events and usually the annual Jazz Fest attracts a lot of publicity) Hopefully all of our new visitors will love our friendly folks, great cooks and beautiful Spring flowers.

Louisiana's Solar Arc for 2010
With Mundane charts we can use Solar arcs and in this case it speaks volumes SA Venus is conjunct Saturn, the North Node is Conjunct Pluto, Neptune is Conjunct Venus and the Sun conjunct Uranus. If you ask me this looks extremely good for the states economy.

April 6, transiting Jupiter made a conjunction to Louisiana's Pluto and then a trine to Uranus on April 21. Jupiter continues to make a square to Venus, the Moon and Jupiter then an opposition to Pluto. ( Jupiter transits happen every 12 years)
How about a rare astronomical event? Pluto is 2 degrees away from Louisiana's Saturn. During 2011-12 Pluto will make a conjunction to Louisiana's Saturn which indicates future problems concerning the state's commodities.

Ok, lets look at the Uranian Planets to see if they made any interesting aspects. The trigger seems to be Spill Mars at 8 Leo trine the Louisiana Vulcanus at 8 Aries, Admetos was conjunct Louisiana's Mercury at 25 Taurus. the suggestion that the event will help the prosperity of the state is Kronos conjunct Jupiter at 3 Cancer.

New Orleans
And the chart for New Orleans. Feb 17 1805 had the spill Neptune exactly conjunct the city's natal Sun square Neptune.
Five years ago an eclipse of April 8 at 19 Aries was visible to the folks who lived in New Orleans and on the 29 of August Katrina hit. The eclipse opposed the city's Uranus. The city has recovered and looks as lovely as ever. The January 15 eclipse at 25 Capricorn fell across the Cities North node. Thought I'd mention the eclipses since they seem to have a connection.

There you have the straight astrological scoop from the happiest state in the Union. For sure our sales tax and room tax revenue will increase in May. Hopefully the clean up works and goes faster than the clean up of New Orleans.

Euro vs Dollar

Financial Astrology forces you to think in terms of supply and demand. Jupiter increases supply and when it makes an aspect to the planet, supply trends to abundance. Therefore the price goes down. Saturn causes supply to decrease and therefore the price increases.

When the Euro became the official currency of Europe all of the Financial Astrologers immediately added the chart to their collection. At the time we thought it was a pretty good chart for a currency and hoped the Euro concept would help traveling in Europe. The Moon in the 9th house made a sextile to Saturn therefore it seemed the traveling public would appreciate the stability of a single currency. Jupiter in its ruling sign of Pisces also gave it a portion of good will among the other world currencies. With an accurate chart for the Euro it has been easier to check the other currencies, but it has just been the past few years that I have studied the currency markets enough to see how they are really working. Questions from our readers have helped me focus on the charts.

Currency Requires Contrarian Thinking
Saturn brings up the price of currency and Jupiter brings down the price. How did that happen?
Jupiter produces abundant supply and Saturn is the planet of contraction in Financial Astrology. That means lower the supply of something the higher the price and the higher supply of something the the lower the price.

Here is how you have to think when looking at currency charts. Therefore Sept. 12, 2009 Saturn was square the Euro Moon and it cost $1.46 to buy a Euro. Nov. 30 Saturn was conjunct the euro asc and it went to a high of 1.52. At the same time the US dollar had Jupiter and Neptune conjunct its natal Pluto. There were to many dollars and Neptune (oil) confused their value. In January the Euro began its slide down with Jupiter sextile Saturn and then trine the MC only to stabilize at $1.33 in April with its first Jupiter return. Simultaneously the dollar had Saturn trine Saturn and then square Jupiter keeping its supply fairly reasonable.
Euro vs Dollar Summer 2010

The dollar has a run of square aspects from May through September. It does have Jupiter square Jupiter May 26 and September 21 which could increase the supply a little bit. The Euro will increase in supply until Saturn makes a conjunction to its Ascendent in late August and then squares its Sun in October.

Prognosis ?
More Dollars and more Euro's means the price of your Big Mac will increase whether you live in Europe or the USA. The question is will your wages increase? In 1959 I had a minimum wage job and it took me a half hour to earn 57 cents to buy a Big Mac. My grandson has to work 40 minutes at his minimum wage job to buy one for $4.29.
The problem is making wise investments that will keep up with inflation. You might like to sign up for classes in Financial Astrology.

Be Prepared: Jupiter conjunct Uranus

June 8, 2010, September 19, 2010, and January 4, 2011 Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct.

The conjunction usually signals a rise to a high in the market. This phenomena occurred in 1997 or about 13 years ago. If you had purchased GE, Honeywell or DIA you would have doubled you money and collected a few dividends. No big deal, right?

However during the 13 years since the last conjunction Jupiter made a bunch of aspects to Uranus and even more to his good buddies Saturn and Neptune. You probably would have put firm stops on these stocks in May 2000 when Jupiter and Saturn made a conjunction.

The study of Financial Astrology is about finding an excellent time to buy, sell or hold. It is for folks who like to make their own decisions, read technical charts, study the past performance of a company and then invest.

Be Prepared: Buy the Textbook for Financial Astrology and sign up for classes

There are 7500 stocks on the New York exchange and thousands more around the world. Some are excellent this year and others are struggling and maybe they will be next year's bargain. Often the date the company was incorporated and then offered as an IPO will give you a clue as to their current situation. If you learn to read these charts, you can avoid being caught in the hype of a website article or a broker with a vested interest.

On a personal level astrology can tell you when you will have a difficult year or a joyous one. It can do the same for companies.

What Do the Textbooks Teach?

I finished writing the three sections on the E Book for Textbook for Financial Astrology in 2002. I wrote it for my students, therefore the lessons move from simple to complex. Each lesson has questions at the end giving the student the opportunity to practice that particular concept. Most of my students were able to complete the first three books and develop their skills at buying stocks as an investment.
A few have their own websites and share their knowledge and experience. The Textbooks explain how you take the first steps in the process of learning Financial Astrology. By the time you finish you should be able to read a chart and start making intelligent investment decisions based on timing and market bias.

Each month I try to update everyone in the New Moon report. I give you an overall picture of the how astrological phenomena will effect the markets. Hopefully you can use it to your advantage before you go to your portfolio site and decide whether this is a good time to sell your stocks that are dead money, make a new investment, or hold onto the ones that actually pay a dividend.

Buying or selling stocks especially if you have a long position requires self-disciple, a target date and excellent stops. You knew that, Right?
They teach you timing. They explain when to start a business, whether a stock according to its chart has a chance of increasing in value, and they explain when outside forces can temporarily damage the price of a stock.

One of the clues as to the exact date to buy or sell is planetary phenomena. Jupiter transits like to give you the opportunity to make a profit and Saturn transits like to When I wrote the Textbook for Financial Astrology I arranged the lessons in the order of their importance to buying and selling stock.

Quite a few planetary phenomena have occurred since 1997 and I've had the opportunity to keep my students informed during these cycles.

Iceland's Volcanos

The Year Without an Arctic Summer
"Old Willie" told the legend of the year that summer did not come" Eskimos living in tiny villages along the coast of the Seward Peninsula (Nome, Alaska) were unable to collect the food they needed for the next winter. He told the story of a sudden change in the weather one June, as the Eskimos were ready to collect the fish, berries and meat they needed to survive winter. Just as they were getting ready to hunt the weather changed. The north wind came bringing weather so bitter that the hunting season ended before it began.
Only 10 people in the area survived including an old woman and her granddaughter who ate a seal-skin boat.

Tree Rings Record the Climate.
Gordon Jacoby of Columbia University heard the story and found in his collection of tree rings one from an area near the Kauwerak villages on the Seward Peninsula.
"It was unique" Jacoby says. "The growth for the first part of the year 1783 appeared normal, but it came to an abrupt end just as summer should have begun. The record was clear 1783 was the coldest growing season in more than 900 years.
A little research and he discovered that June 8, 1783 the Skaptar Jokull volcano in Iceland suddenly erupted and continued to erupt for the next 6 months. It was among the most disastrous in history. In Iceland it killed 20% of the population. It sent up a dense cloud of gas and the prevailing winds carried the cloud over Canada and Alaska and across to Japan where it initiated a severe famine.
The sulfurous gasses in the volcanic clouds combined with water forming crystals that reflected the solar radiation back into space. Jacoby's tree ring analysis demonstrated that the northern most areas of Alaska had no growing season, and southern Alaska experienced significant cooling.

18th Century Sun Spots
Sun Spot activity from 1770-1773 was recorded as the high for the 18th Century. Saturn had just passed the exact opposition to Uranus and from the heliocentric point of view. Also from the helio point of view Jupiter had just left the conjunction to Saturn.
September 1, 2009 the opposition of Saturn and Uranus were also exact and Jupiter was moving to a conjunction with Neptune from the helio point of view. This date marked the end of a long 704 day Solar minimum. From the geocentric point of view the current opposition of Saturn and Uranus will be exact April 26 and July 26. Planetary dynamics predicts that volcanic activity in Iceland will continue. Wind direction indicates the areas most vulnerable.

Solar Spots and Flares
The Llewellyn Sun Sign Annual 2010 contains an article I wrote "Sun Spot Explosion 2010."
In the article I tell some of the legends in the Arctic that explain the appearance of the Northern Lights. I read the folk legends carefully looking for stories that contain weather warnings handed down through the generations. Often they prove to be accurate historic accounts of weather disasters.

The New Moon in Aries

Read this New Moon report in it's entirety at www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/newsletter.html
New Moon forecasts show the general trends and financial outlook for the month; here is what Kaye Shinker has to say for the month ahead:

New Moon in Aries in the 12th House
The New Moon concentration of planets in the 12th house suggests that public institutions are under intense pressure. Budgets must be cut. No public employee wants to lose their job, but lack of tax receipts insist that whole agencies disappear. Elected officials will be required to make tough decisions. These decisions will be made behind closed doors.

Mercury in the 12th house
This Mercury, while direct, continues to discuss laws concerning helping the poor/disabled and institutionalized. Opinions are forcefully expressed and stubbornly held.

The real problem is when Mercury goes retrograde in Taurus. The media on both sides of every scandal will discuss them, but no one is able to agree on a solution. Don't ask anyone to make a decision any further into the future than an hour.

Venus in the 12th house
Institutions and governments try to increase their budgets by asking for donations and grants. Some are able to increase their budgets and benefits. Parks and recreation will gain more receipts than expected since they are the least expensive of recreation options.

Mars in the 3rd house
Auto sales are slow because of Mercury retrograde. Folks are anticipating future machines with better mileage than what is currently available. Recreational vehicle sales are also slow.

Commodities markets have problems. Commodities prices are all over the place. News reports concerning weather will cause volatile grain prices. Erratic demand for metals will keep traders extremely busy. The underlying problem is currency and their floats.

Pluto in the 8th house
Pluto is at home in the 8th and happily collecting taxes and insurance premiums. Tax collections are higher than expected. The party in power takes the praise and the blame for higher everything. You may begin to recognize the cultural shift will in attitudes toward personal responsibility. Folks are considering new ways to incorporate their businesses into a desirable lifestyle.

Neptune in the 10th house
Employment continues to be elusive especially at the managerial levels. Creative and ingenious personnel is the need. Folks with the talent to manipulate audio, video and the written word in an attractive setting are the desired employees as advertising returns to the media. Opportunities abound for those behind the scenes and producing creative material.

Jupiter in the 11th house
Jupiter is rapidly moving to a conjunction with Uranus. 80% of their conjunctions have produced a high in the market. The same is true for transits of Jupiter to the Uranus on a Corporation. Therefore corporations formed during the 1920's and still operating on their original incorporation documents should do well during this transit. Dividends paid this month will be excellent and higher than forecasted. Double check your research and try a few stocks in the materials and machinery sector.

Uranus in the 11th house
Tech stocks have outfoxed us. Note the ones with cash on their balance sheets. (See the topic, "New economy? Stocks with cash and no debt" in the community bulletin board) They have survived this crisis and learned the magic lesson of how to do it again.  In the 11th they may chose to reward their shareholders with dividends. Unlikely,  but possible with Uranus the planet of unexpected changes.

First Share of Stock

Oldest Share of Stock-a nonvaleurs (no value)

"Dutch Vereinigte Oostindische Compaignie (VOC) share certificate # 6, down-payment on a share; issued by the Camere Amsterdam 27th September 1606. Original signatures: Arent ten Grotenhuys and Dirck van Os, company founder van Verre and after 1602 Directors of VOC Kammer Amsterdam. "

Translation of the copy on the face of the stock which you can view by following this link.

I'm a history buff and I've been surfing all day looking for the first day various Central Banks opened and when banks first issued notes. Then I took an interest in stock exchanges and found the oldest one was in Amsterdam.

I copied this paragraph from the web site just to give you a little bit of background information about this treasure.

"The original paid up share capital was 6,424,588 Guilders, a huge sum at that time.
The key to success in the raising of capital was the decision taken by the owners to to open up access to a wide public and to accept shareholders as part-owners.
Thus the shares were sold rapidly, mostly at a nominal value of 3000 Guilders, and they were tradable, as any Dutchman could buy and sell them. The share price was not set by the government of the country but by an independent joint-stock corporation interested in profit.
The company shareholders (the term came into use after about 1606) had to produce the subscribed capital in four part payments and they were called up by the VOC between 1603 and 1606. " Website photo.

I calculated the chart of the stock. Could it be that its Sun, Saturn and Mars in early cardinal could have influenced the date when future stock exchanges organized? My research was producing a trend for most of the exchanges to have planets in early cardinal. None of them were happy in early 2009 when Pluto finally moved into Capricorn.

This historic stock was really hit hard in January 2009. Pluto was conjunct its Saturn Mars conjunction and Neptune was conjunct its Jupiter. Saturn was conjunct its North Node. January 2009 was a very rough time for stocks worldwide. It looks like this summer's early cardinal T square of Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn and Pluto will be a challenge for the chart of this first ever stock. Once upon a time it was very valuable and expensive. Today its value is as an antique.

A description of its history as an antique as well as a discussion of the evolution of stock trading is very interesting. It might send you to the old trunk in the attic just to double check it for paper treasures.

Oh by the way the oldest company still in existence is the Hudson Bay Company. Check out its chart with its early Cardinal planets pg. 105 The Textbook for Financial Astrology Book 3

Chinese Currency: Renminbi alias Yuan

The headline is that the Chinese Premier Lu's visit to the USA signals an easing in the valuation of Chinese currency to the US Dollar. Reporters expect that China banking officials will allow a modest appreciation in the value of the Renminbi alias Yuan. Many economists believe that it is 20% over valued against all other currencies.

Renminbi Floats
July 21, 2005 the peg of the Chinese Renminbi was lifted and a managed float was put into place. At that point in time transiting Neptune was opposed the Renminbi's Pluto and Jupiter was conjunct its Neptune. In Financial astrology Neptune represents interest rates which is basically the meaning of a float.

Example of the Float
July 21, 2005 the Chinese Central Bank lifted its peg to foreign currencies and allowed a managed float using a basket of currencies. Until July 21,2005 it would cost 8.2 Renminbi to buy one US dollar. In July 2007 the price was 7.6 and today it takes 6.8 Renminbi to buy one US dollar.

Chinese Invented Paper Money
Chinese currency has a long and very interesting history. They invented copper coins with a hole in the center. Folks strung the coins together and traded the strings of coins for goods. Eventually the coin strings weighed more than their owner. Inconvenient!

Find a need and fill it
The Chinese invented paper money known as Mulberry currency since the paper was from the inner bark of a Mulberry tree. Originally the paper money could be traded for copper coins, silver or gold but like all great currencies it soon became a fiat currency as rulers ran their printing presses faster and faster.

Today's Yuan
A year before the final take over of the China's government The People's Party established a bank to issue a new currency. It was a brilliant move and the date appears to have been set by someone not very conversant in Chinese Astrology since it is the year of the earth rat.

The chart above tests well with events in the history of this version of their currency. Therefore we might expect that transiting Pluto conjunct its Jupiter/Mars and transiting Saturn opposed Uranus square its natal Uranus will ignite some very deliberate action on the part of the Chinese Central Bank to bring the valuation of their currency into balance with the dollar and other world currencies. Their controlled float will be very measured since Saturn seems to be in charge of the pace. Saturn will make a conjunction to the Renminbi Neptune March 25, 2011 thus ending the float.

King Dollar ?

King is a Tough Position to Play.
When you are on the top everyone knows which way to aim their arrows. In this case it is almost prosaic. The dollar has Jupiter at 28 degrees in its ruling sign Sagittarius. Artists love to paint the symbolism of the sign. Half horse and half man drawing a bow with an arrow aimed at the sky. See Llewellyn 2010 wall calendar page for December 2010.

The Astrological Problem
The problem is transiting Saturn opposed transiting Uranus both squaring the Dollar's Jupiter on April 26, 2010. When planets are opposed to each other they can see each other but they can't hear the words the other speaks. Structures (Saturn) can see dramatic change (Uranus) but the structures cannot understand why Uranus insists on changing the neat and tidy way things are at this moment. Both are squaring the Dollar's Jupiter and challenging his dominance. Arrows are aimed from both directions at Jupiter.

November 4, 2008 the opposition of Saturn to Uranus was at 18 Virgo/Pisces (bail out the banks), February 5, 2009 the opposition was a 20 Virgo/Pisces (bail out the autos) and September 15, 2009 the opposition was at 24 Virgo/ Pisces (unemployment). April 26, 2010 is opposition #4 with #5 July 26, 2010 on the Aries point sometimes called the World Axis. Up to this point the opposition seems to have stirred the world of politics and the world of economics with the exposure of scandalous behavior of financial experts concerning the creation of unsustainable debt.

Debt Crisis
Neptune and Jupiter made a conjunction on the Dollar's Pluto December 21, 2009. Discussions concerning the mounting debt of the taxpayer have flourished. Every financial guru has lectured endlessly on the topic with circles and arrows that look like a football coach's play book. Financial reporters have worn out the zero key on their keyboard trying to explain the actual amount of indebtedness to the public. (Neptune=debt, Jupiter=expansion, Pluto=trillions of dollars) Textbook for Financial Astrology Lesson 5 Book 2.

Dollar Squared
The Dollar's new problem is squares. The opposition is applying to a square with Jupiter earned income. Jupiter represents money gathered in stacks. Example your monthly income. The Dollar is challenged to gather enough momentum to maintain its stacks. Jupiter in Sagittarius has plenty of arrows in his quiver but only one in his bow. He has to aim with precision at either the old structures or the disruptive constantly changing ones. Should he aim at Europe or Asia, the banks or technology, exports or imports.

Neptune conjunct the USA Moon
The opposition is challenging Jupiter's power, his energy and his ability to expand. The square is forcing the action. Simultaneously transiting Neptune is applying to a conjunction with the USA Aquarius Moon. Continued expansion of debt is the topic of the blog-a-sphere. Will Jupiter live to fight another day? HMMM. Saturn opposed Uranus will square the Dollar's Mars July 26,2010 two weeks following the eclipse to the Dollar's Moon. Looks like all out economic war during the summer with opposite sides aiming at the Dollar's value.

War of the Titans
In mythology there is the 10 year war of the Titans where finally Jupiter defeats Saturn. Neptune gave his brother Jupiter a hand in the battle. Neptune the planet of deception is conjunct the Moon of the USA chart, maybe the USA public will be deceived by the financial Titans and yet again willingly add to their debt. They could also take the challenge of the square and fight the Titans with the courage of Jupiter. However, Mercury is Retrograde and deception is rampant. Joseph Campbell tells the story in The Masks of the Gods or you can Google it for a rough outline of the tale.

? Whether to play the Dollar long or short. Answer: Don't play Mercury is retrograde. There are three inflation hedges; precious metals, vacant land, and stocks. However you might consider purchasing sterling silver place settings (check the hallmark ; ). Classes via online chat available beginning March 29, 2010.

Fiscal Cents - Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign - Aries

Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign For the Lunar Month Beginning March 15, 2010 - Your Astrological Horoscope and Financial Outlook
by Kaye Shinker

AriesHappy Solar Return Aries! And Best Wishes to all Pisces still celebrating their Solar Returns.

The New Moon on March 15 appeared in Pisces, however the Sun enters the zodiac sign of Aries five days later on March 20, 2010.

The Sun enters Aries on the day of the Spring Equinox, and depending upon the year, the Equinox can be on March 21st or March 20th. The 2010 Spring Equinox is March 20, 1:32 pm EDT

During the past few years I have encouraged every Sun Sign to save some money, limit their trading with excellent stops and to develop hobbies. 2010 is the year to watch for IPO's. Read the descriptions and start looking for great new inventions.

Neptune is all alone in Aquarius, therefore everyone's computer fingers are in danger of being careless! Make it a practice to write your order into a notebook then triple check your order before you push the buy or sell button.

Aries, you are promised the weirdest year of your life. It is going to be challenging, and be prepared for the outrageous! If you take care of each challenge as it appears then you will have a prosperous summer and a wonderful 2011.

And you Pisceans, take care of your paperwork and complete all the promises made during the past month. Double check your tax forms and reread your insurance policies. This is your year Pisces.

On the web site you will find the article, Venus - The Money in Your Chart be sure to read it for directions on How to Construct an Astrological Treasure Chest.

This Month For Aries

Aries, take the opportunity to give yourself a four day week-end. Get out a town and learn something new. Your earned income is just fine for now so enjoy a bit of time off from the routine.

We suggest that you also read your Ascendant (your Rising sign), as well as your Sun sign on our web site - to read your sun sign's forecast on our web site go to: www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/Fiscalcents.html.

For all other signs: Each Sun Sign has predictions of the challenges and successes for you during the month ahead in our Fiscal Cents column on the web site. (Remember to also read your Ascendant, or Rising sign, as well as your Sun sign!)

Goldman Sachs

This is the IPO chart for Goldman Sachs on the day the company went public and sold shares of their stock. Note that the time is 10:39, one hour and nine minutes past the opening bell. This means that the offer had so many buyers that the exchange needed the extra time to sort out the requests for shares of the stock. Therefore the sale of the first share did not take place until 10:39.

The reason I mention this is Vulcanus a hypothetical planet is exactly conjunct the Ascendant. Vulcanus is believed to be very powerful and sets up a trend of increased value when near a personal point in a chart.  In this case the Ascendant is that personal point. Goldman Sachs has had plenty of publicity concerning the talents of its personnel and their ability to decipher the various aspects of the marketplace.

January 29, 2010 GS price $154 transiting Saturn was trine natal Neptune and Neptune has just passed the trine to natal Venus both minor red flags.   This aspect will reappear Sept. 3, 2010 and by that point in time the price could go down again 5%.  Since January 29, 2010 the price of GS has increased to $171 per share and the aspects of transiting Jupiter and Uranus have been positive ending with a Jupiter sextile the natal Sun this week. The volume has been steady and I would expect the price to continue rising slowly until September.

Everything in the chart of GS appears to be favorable for the price of the stock. The fact that Vulcanus is transiting the ascendent adds to the increase power and the energy reserve of the company to influence the marketplace.

Thank you Vinod for asking the question.  In my Textbook for Financial Astrology I discuss various RED FLAGS.

EURO is Stressed Out

Wow the Euro is under pressure.  Financial Astrologers use the chart above as an indication of what is happening with the Euro. At first glance it appears to be a slow infusion of printing press generated inflation of the currency.

First challenge to the Euro is transiting Saturn conjunct the ascendant until August 21, 2010 with transiting Jupiter opposed on the descendant.  The following stress aspect is Saturn square the Sun.  The best thing about tough Saturn aspects is that they tend to send the accountants to work and insist that the accountants finish the job.

Currently Jupiter square the Euro's Pluto is telling the European bankers to be very accurate in their assessment of the valuation of the currency.  Fortunately Jupiter is sextile the Euro's Sun. Therefore they could actually sit down and determine how many barrels of oil or ounces of gold a Euro should buy. The hope will be that the Saturn trine Neptune will help them tell the truth and explain exactly how they intend to solve the problem of failing state treasuries without diminishing the value of the currency.  There is hope that carefully executed plans will take advantage of this opportunity to assure creditors the Greeks etc. will not default. However, the sextile suggests that the plan is a bandaid and Far East creditors will be unhappy when they translate the provisions of the plan.

April 22, 2010 has Jupiter conjunct Jupiter says the printing presses could be the immediate solution and inflation of the currency is advertised as a one time solution (Jupiter square Mercury). Basically the public decides to accept the solution after a few weeks of adamant discussions.

Pluto on the IC during the entire summer forces the Euro to clean house. Paying energy bills with Euro's will be a major topic of discussion. Divesting the various governments of their padded payrolls will probably be a long task that is finalized in September 2011. (Saturn conjunct Mars)  Divesting the Euro banks of their directors and management (Saturn square Sun) will make headlines. It is easier to fire management and most will be scheduled to leave their offices by mid-October 2010.

The Euro's chart begins to improve with Jupiter trine the Sun in August 2011 and hopefully the final trine (March 2012) will find the administrators of the Euro will have worked to maintain the currency.  It will be difficult but they will have conquered the biggest problem of public confidence with Saturn trine the Moon and a public ready to allow the Euro to grow up during its first Saturn opposition.

On the bulletin board I discussed the current perils of the Dow.  My Textbooks for Financial Astrology contain charts that are relevant to our current financial crisis. A scary project is wandering through all of them circling planets at 9-10 Cardinal.
Previous discussions of the Euro and the Dollar can be found on this blog.  You can use the search box to make finding them a fairly easy task.

Fiscal Cents - Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign - Pisces

Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign For the Lunar Month Beginning February 13, 2010 - Your Astrological Horoscope and Financial Outlook
by Kaye Shinker

PiscesHappy Solar Return Pisces! And Best Wishes to all Aquarians still celebrating their Solar Returns. The New Moon is in Aquarius, however the Sun enters Pisces five days later on February 18th. If you are a Pisces Sun, this is your year Pisces. It is going to be confusing, but you can handle it. Just lock up your credit cards and let others bring you gifts. Make a wish list, or better yet, make an astrological Treasure Map. On the web site you will find the article, Venus - The Money in Your Chart, be sure to read it for directions on How to Construct an Astrological Treasure Chest.

If you are a late Aquarius Sun - born at the end of the Sun Sign Aquarius - continue to take good care of your electronic toys and keep their guarantees in a safe place. Find a place to recycle your old equipment - and your storage shed or basement is not an option! Take some time to relax and play; the next few months should find you solving a plethora of problems.

This Month For Pisces

Last month you practiced having fun, now do it for real. The New Moon weekend is filled with parties, try not to miss a single one. Join the crowd! You might also have some fun in the commodities market. Practice online trading before you actually put real money to work. You will be lucky with your investment ideas, but you have to do the research.

Advice for everyone - not just for Pisces! During the past few years I have encouraged every Sun Sign to save some money, limit their trading with excellent stops and to develop hobbies. 2010 is the year to watch for IPO's. Read the descriptions and start looking for great new inventions. Neptune is all alone in Aquarius, therefore everyone's computer fingers are in danger of being careless. Make it a practice to write your order into a notebook then triple check your order before you push the buy or sell button.

On the web site you will find two articles: Money in Your Chart; and Jupiter and the Money In Your Chart, Part II of Money in Your Chart be sure to read them.

The New Moon in Aquarius

Read this New Moon report in it's entirety at www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/newsletter.html
New Moon forecasts show the general trends and financial outlook for the month; here is what Kaye Shinker has to say for the month ahead:

New Moon in Aquarius 2010
The New Moon in Aquarius, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 9:51 PM EST Washington D.C.

February 14 is both the Chinese New Year (Year of the Tiger) and Valentines Day.

February 16 is Mardi Gras.

The New Moon and three joyous Holidays within a space of 4 days! So here's wishing you a Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Valentines Day. Have a Very Merry Mardi Gras and laissez les bon temps rouler! (That's Louisiana Cajun French for "Let the Good Times Roll!")

Laugh with your children, enjoy amusing entertainment, and live life to the fullest. Laugh until you are rolling on the floor.

The New Moon Appears in the Fifth House of this chart. The fifth house is fun, laughter, and giggles. It is the house of children, theater, amusements, education, gambling, and commodities.

The New Moon means it is time for a fresh new start, a new beginning, a new attitude. In Aquarius, in the fifth, it means technological fun.

Something new is on the horizon and everyone with internet access will think this is just the best thing since sliced bread. Life is short, it is time to use all those smiley face glyphs : )).

Neptune in the Fifth House

Theater, the arts and casino receipts will increase as folks determine it is time to spend their spare cash on having a good time. The fact that three huge celebrations come together after the New Moon helps add to the creativity of parades, feasts, and musical entertainment. Folks will decorate everything in order to make their neighbors smile. Chiron, the Maverick, remains conjunct Neptune which means unique creative ideas will eventually win. Example, the popularity of Avatar. Go ahead Smile.

Venus in the Fifth House

Award ceremonies proliferate and for a change the popular attraction wins. People are earning money from their labors. They are finding ways to recycle all sorts of rubbish and sell their junk for extra income. Opportunities are everywhere for those who keep their eyes wide open. Vendors are earning cash with their push carts filled with interesting fun toys.

Jupiter in the Fifth House

Children are well behaved and actually teaching their parents and teachers about the world of technology. Entertainment ventures are making a profit as folks with cabin fever are spending their extra cash on tickets. Speculative adventures are doing just fine. New businesses are collecting plenty of cash and many are making news as a result. Traders on the various exchanges are making good decisions and getting excellent ideas as to where to invest their money. In each book of the Textbook for Financial Astrology, I offer lists of where to look when Jupiter transits Pisces.

Uranus in the Sixth House

Weird compensation changes are happening in the uniform service sector. Strange pets are being investigated and laws concerning their captivity are proposed. Take care of all minor abrasions. If you need to employ technology proficient personnel, this would be a good time to find them. Employment contracts have strange conditions, therefore read the fine print. This is a good time to rewrite your resume with an emphasis on your creativity and adaptability. Unimaginable job descriptions are currently under construction.

Mars in the Tenth House

Mars is opposed to Mercury, and that means everyone is shouting at each other. It is difficult to hear what each person is saying. Executives are shouting at the customers and the customers are shouting at the executives. Mars fills the executive board rooms and governments with euphonious wars of words. Everyone disagrees about how to proceed. Discussions are endless.

Markets trade in a narrow range as a result. Traders just shake their heads. Investors remind themselves that markets anticipate the economy by six to eight months. Mars retrograde at least limits the amount of energy behind the verbal tirades, but when Mars goes direct (March 10th) the battle for power will begin.

Saturn in the Twelfth House

Accounting scandals concerning public institutions are discussed in every media. There is a sense of fairness that is being violated by greed, incompetent bookkeeping and disreputable hired officials. Solutions will be proposed and some will actually be enacted. Folks will demand openness concerning the institutions in their community as well as nation.

Pluto in the Third House

Old media just can't keep up with new media. Those employed by old media are finally making the transition and becoming actively involved in sharing their knowledge. Imagination dominates.

Folks are once again shopping for replacement vehicles. The opportunity seems to be in used cars and trucks.

Mercury in the Fourth House

Negotiations concerning home sales will be challenging. Windy weather slows the planting of crops for farmers in the Southern states. Windy weather in the Northeast is a problem for travelers.

Earthquake and volcanic activity continues throughout the Caribbean.

Jupiter in Pisces

Dow Down Three Days in a Row
Every time Jupiter changes signs the market looses its focus. I mentioned this in the Winter Solstice 2009 article and the Capricorn New Moon Newsletter.  Market watchers have found every excuse in the world for the market going down.  They blame earthquakes, unemployment, banks, foreclosures and national and international debt.

Sorry folks it's just Jupiter changing signs and traders sitting on their cash trying to figure which sector will be in play next.  Jupiter in Pisces means there will be an abundant supply of oil, drugs, shoes, and chemicals.  It is a long list of industries. The companies in these businesses that are well managed and able to divest themselves of over supply will make it through and their stock price will hold with the market. Many will lose because oversupply will destroy their margin and profit.

Sixth House Emphasis is Employment
There is a glimmer of hope since Jupiter, Moon and Neptune are in the 6th house which suggests employment will expand in selected areas.  Hopefully this is a sign that the number of unemployed will decrease during the next few months. Watch the weekly claims numbers.

Employment areas where Jupiter plans to find some new jobs for folks. They are uniform services,  creative arts especially films, and volunteer public service.  Consider emergency services, volunteer coordinator, film distribution as some possible places to look for employment.  Most jobs will be short term, however, it might be just enough to give you a chance to clean up some of your bills.

Sectors for Investors to Consider
Investors need to look at the suggested sectors where short supply will dominate the economic picture.  Sectors ruled by Gemini include vehicles, telephones, and early education materials.  Sectors ruled by Sagittarius are international travel, higher education, and publishing.  All of these areas were hit by the internet tsunami and companies are reshuffling.  New players will emerge and worthy of investing a few bucks.
You can read about Jupiter square investment theory in the Textbooks for Financial Astrology.

Fiscal Cents - Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign - Aquarius

Financial Astrology for Your Zodiac Sign For the Lunar Month Beginning January 15, 2010 - Your Astrological Horoscope and Financial Outlook
by Kaye Shinker

CapricornHappy Solar Return Aquarius! The New Moon is in Capricorn, however the Sun enters Aquarius four days later on January 19th. Best Wishes to all Capricorns still celebrating their Solar Returns. Both Sun signs are best advised to review and revise their portfolios and research thoroughly every stock on their "to buy" list.

If you are Capricorn, you have been trying your best to keep your life in order and it just refuses to obey. If you are a Aquarius Sun life has been reading directions and plugging in your devises and finding surge protectors and batteries. It is important for you to take care of all of your computers and make sure to properly file your warranty papers.

Advice for everyone - not just for Aquarius! During the past few years I have encouraged every Sun Sign to save some money, limit their trading with excellent stops and to develop hobbies. 2010 is the year to watch for IPO's. Read the descriptions and start looking for great new inventions.

If you have a planet near 25 degrees Capricorn read my article, Economic Implications of the Solar Eclipse in Your Personal Horoscope

This Month For Aquarius

Start a new change jar to begin saving for your next vacation. Cash spent on home improvements will add to the value of your property. Make the interior of your home comfortable as you will prefer to work there as much as possible.

Aquarius, we suggest that you also read your Ascendant (your Rising sign), as well as your Sun sign on our web site - to read your sun sign's forecast on our web site go to: www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/Fiscalcents.html.

For all other signs: Each Sun Sign has predictions of the challenges and successes for you during the month ahead in our Fiscal Cents column on the web site. (Remember to also read your Ascendant, or Rising sign, as well as your Sun sign!)

The New Moon in Capricorn

Read this New Moon report in it's entirety at www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/newsletter.html
New Moon forecasts show the general trends and financial outlook for the month; here is what Kaye Shinker has to say for the month ahead:

New Moon in Capricorn Solar Eclipse 2010
The New Moon in Capricorn is also a Solar Eclipse. It will occur on January 15, 2010 at 2:11 am at Washington D.C.

The area where the eclipse is visible starts in Africa, over the Indian Ocean and ends in China. The entire area has been shaking since the July 22, 2009 eclipse and several volcanoes are rumbling. (Follow the path of the eclipse: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OHfigures/OH2010-Fig01.pdf )

The eclipse is conjunct the natal Pluto of the USA 4th of July chart. Pluto is in the second house of the USA Sibley chart. The entire country must rise from the ashes like the mythical Phoenix in order to clean up one huge financial mess. It is probable that the dollar and the banking system will insist on being rebuilt. Extraordinary creativity will be required.

My optimistic suggestion: Capricorn likes to change the rules of the game. Pluto likes to destroy things. The current set of proposed rules are impossible to enforce. For the past six months governments and business have been making various attempts at changing the rules.

If you have a planet near 25 degrees Capricorn read my article, Economic Implications of the Solar Eclipse in Your Personal Horoscope

The New Moon appears in the third house for the east coast and in the fourth house for the west coast of the US. The weather forecast is difficult for the entire hemisphere. Expect the continental plates to slip and slide during the next few weeks.

Transportation and communications will be the focus of attention with the New Moon in the third House. The Federal Communications Commission should be extremely busy discussing difficult problems such as band width and emergency communications channels. Electronic communications providers will spend most of the month looking for opportunities to find new ways to monetize their services.

Venus in the Third House

Corporations and governments will debate the subscription vs advertising services to the public with polls and questionnaires. The focus will be the amount of discretionary income the public considers reasonable to pay for these services. Also a new type of Internet pay per page view debit card could find trial runs among select consumers.

Vehicles and communications equipment will be in demand. Upgrades will become the focus of public attention. Employment in these areas will improve, especially in the older technologies where workers are giving notice of plans to retire. Entrepreneurs in the service sector of communications will add employees as demand increases. The New Moon gives Venus extra power and earned income in the transportation industry will increase. Truck drivers will earn their raise.

Neptune in the Fourth

Expect water damage on the East Coast.

Taxpayers will not be very happy if they are expected to bailout another insurance company.

Local governments will discover that their real estate tax assessments are flawed due to changing evaluations of a home's resale price and the occupancy of commercial real estate. Local and state legislators will be required to attend endless budget meetings.

Jupiter in the Fourth

Jupiter in the fourth can precipitate an earthquake and in this case along the East Coast of the USA and that includes the Caribbean. (Marley's note- This prediction was written 2 weeks earlier than when the earthquake occurred in Haiti - very impressive astrological work Kaye!)

The number of real estate transactions east of the Mississippi are likely to increase. People will happily work on home improvement projects keeping the hardware stores busy. Underemployed handy men/women should make their skills known.

Uranus in the Fourth

Uranus here brings surprises to the real-estate markets. Owners of commercial real estate will need to study new ways to sell their space. Innovations in electronics has reduced demand for some types of spaces requiring property owners to renovate their buildings. For example: As broadband expands its reach offices will require fewer and fewer square feet to operate. New businesses require a nice conference room and a bank of computers to operate efficiently.

Mars in the Ninth

Problem here is Mars retrograde at the top of the chart. Confusion prevails as International tensions create volatility concerning tariffs and monetary exchange rates. It is time to be wary of investments made outside of your region.

It is a good idea to avoid currency investments. Mars retrograde in Leo means gold and mining stocks will be volatile until March 10.

Saber rattling perpetrators attempt actions but they are thwarted when they try to follow through. The current challenge especially for the media will be to identify who started the fight. While Mars is retrograde the person who starts the battle loses.

Saturn in the Eleventh

Saturn is applying to a square with Pluto. Whoever tries to raise taxes on bonuses or dividends will lose their position of power. The corporate sport will be to hide as much profit as possible through acquisitions or spin offs. Executives will study ways to grow their businesses without diluting their capital. Small business will study their account books to find new ways to improve their capital and increase their cash reserves.

Pluto in the Second

Pluto is square Saturn and will be exact on January 31. During the month scandals concerning theft will surface at every level of the economy. Losses will continue in the financial services industry as hidden toxic assets surface. The IRS will expose tax fraud in an effort to increase compliance. Before investing in an ETF be sure you know the tax consequences concerning their earnings estimates. (FYI, ETFs that hold currencies, futures contracts or hard assets such as precious metals receive different treatment under the U.S. tax code.) Be wary of claims of government guarantees.

Mercury in the Second

Earned income for the USA will come from hidden sources. Media old and new will add to the earnings prospects for everyone. Be sure you invest in your own education and learn to use your electronic gadgets efficiently. Uranus will be in Aries May 28th suggesting dramatic changes in communications. Now is the time to be alert and watch the descriptions of IPO's coming into the market. You are looking for new products that are outrageous.

Silver

Date when silver was first traded as a commodity on the National Metals Exchange.

Why Silver?
Did you ever take a teaspoon out of your Sterling Silver box and weigh it on you kitchen scales? It's a little over an ounce, right?  Silver sells for about $18.50 per troy ounce on the Comex. Let's see that is 8 place settings x4 utensils x $18.50.  And you thought it was an ugly pattern. Actually many of the pieces weigh more than an ounce, but in the words of your grandmother it was useful and an investment.

You can find silver all over your house and even in your car.  Right this minute you will find silver under the keys of your computer keyboard.  Silver is a dependable safety switch for all things electric including your light switches, and your circuit breakers.  Think of all the household electrical products manufactured in China. Does that explain their demand?

In addition to silverware and jewelry, silver has a wide range of uses. Silver nitrate is used for photographic film and as a natural antibiotic in medicine.  Although photography and medicine no longer demand huge supplies of silver, electrical devises have increased the demand four fold. Silver mining companies are often six months behind filling their contracts.

The Moon rules Silver
The light of the silvery Moon is always changing and therefore the price of silver is constantly changing. It is a moody metal, unpredictable and its valuations are capricious.  However if you follow the price of silver over the past 70+ years you will note that it trends higher until the Sun is in Cancer and trends lower until the Sun is in Capricorn.

The chart above is useful as an early warning to predict the rise and fall of the price for silver. Transiting Pluto will trine its Mars Neptune conjunction and transiting Saturn will trine its Venus.  It looks like a good play long, but silver is capricious and stops are essential. Note these aspects have been in play since 2008.

I tested this chart for silver with past highs and lows. The best story happened in 1980. I chose the event when the Hunt Brothers attempted to corner the silver market.  March 1980 silver sold for almost $50 per troy ounce.  However March 24, 1980 there was a rules change concerning margin requirements for commodities traders.  The chart for Silver indicates the the rules change with Pluto squared by transiting Pluto. The Hunt brothers had cornered one third of the silver market, but the change in margin rules would bankrupt them.  It's a good story.

In financial astrology it is a good idea not to mess with Pluto.  Transiting Pluto loves to destroy wealth and will chose a conjunction, square,  or an opposition to accomplish the task.  At the moment Pluto is making a square to Saturn and looking for targets.  Double check the astrological charts for the stocks and commodities in your portfolio.

Charts for stocks and commodities may be found in the Textbooks for Financial Astrology. Book 4 contains a number of commodities charts including this one.

OPEC: Oil UP Oil down

The chart for OPEC The Organizations of Petroleum Exporting States is from Nicholas Campion's Book of World Horoscopes.

It has proven to be a fairly accurate chart for predicting the price of oil. You can watch the transiting planets as they move in cycles around the zodiac or you can pick an event chart such as the one above for OPEC.

Here my procedure.
Using this commodities site I find the date the price was at a high and then the date it was at a low.  I place the planets Jupiter-Pluto around the chart and their direction during the year. If they make a conjunction, square or an opposition during the year I note the date it happens and then find the price on that date.

Example using the OPEC chart to follow the price of oil.
Oil was at its all time high $141 per barrel the month following Jupiter trine the OPEC Sun July 11, 2008. The next aspect to follow was Saturn conjunct Pluto when the price begins to fall. Saturn then makes two conjunctions to OPEC's Sun (Dec 15, 2008 and Jan. 16, 2009).  The price of oil fell to $32 on Dec 19, 2008.  It remained on its low for about two months and then began an upward climb doubling  by June 15, 2009 to $68.  During those six months Jupiter made favorable aspects to Mercury, Venus, Mars and itself.  Aug 20, 2009 Saturn returned to a conjunction with the OPEC Sun then squared Jupiter and Mars to find a price range of $60-70. Then Jupiter opposed Uranus made a sextile to itself and made a trine to Mars pushing the price up t0 $80.

Follow the progress of transiting Jupiter through the next few months as it moves to an opposition with Pluto, trines Neptune and the Moon and makes a sextile to Saturn.  After the date each aspect is exact then look at the one that follows and you should be able to anticipate whether the price will go up or down.

The Textbook for Financial Astrology contains a number of charts for stocks and commodities. I think it is really a fun way to watch the oil market knowing the price of gasoline will follow. The dollar is also a factor in the price of oil.  Scroll down for the Dollar's chart.

The price of gas has become something of a sport for me.
I know that about two weeks after the spot price for oil drops a few dollars then the price of gas at the pump will be down a few cents. In early 2008 when gasoline moved past$3 per gallon I learned to carefully consolidate my trips. I know my exact route when I go into town (80 miles round trip). I track the price of oil to have an idea of whether to fill up at the pump or just spend $20.  My Virgo rising is very self-critical especially if I miss a lower price of even two cents a week later.
